Bush, YESTERDAY: "News coverage unfair, 15 of 18 Iraqi provinces stable!"
BUSH: They're looking on your TV screen and seeing indiscriminate bombing, where thousands of innocent or hundreds of innocent Iraqis are getting killed, and they're saying whether or not we're able to achieve the objective. What they don't see are the -- you know, the small businesses starting, 15 of the 18 provinces are relatively stable, where progress is being made.

(END VIDEO CLIP) BEGALA: Well, Alex, let's pretend you're the president of CNN; 62 people are murdered yesterday, three shot in the head on the street. Do you think that we should do a story about small businesses in Iraq when we've got 1,300 dead people getting machine-written letters from Donald Rumsfeld? Does he really -- do you think he's out to lunch on this?

ALEX CASTELLANOS, REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST: You know, there is a war still going on and tragic loss of life.

But there is also another side to the story. And it would be nice if there were a little bit more fair and balanced -- fair and balanced coverage on some of these issues.

6. Just like the electoral map
You'd think Bush won a bazillion to nothin' looking at the blue state/red state map. Same story here, if you throw out Fallujah, Najaf, Baghdad, Karbala, Kirkuk and Samarra, things are just peachy. Unfortunately, that's where everyone lives.

Oh yeah, remember "Freedom's on the march"

2. Ever notice how Bush refers to all problems in Iraq as being
scenes on a TV screen? It's like the problem isn't that it's HAPPENING, only that it's being SEEN.

7. The Repub Spokesperson Quoted In The Above Article
was saying "we need more fair and balanced coverage..." He was on CNN. It was a not so subtle endorsement of Fox.

11. And on 9/11 what did they report?
Did they report the number of cities that didn't get attacked? Did they show video of people sipping tea in Kansas that day?

Bush needs a serious dose of reality if he thinks nonstop violence, lack of electricity, and torture is A-Okay because elsewhere in Iraq a family has running water and is able to run a small business.

14. The fine young entrepreneurs of Iraq
blew up a mess hall today and killed 20 more U.S. servicemen. They were probably from one of the three unstable provinces.

The media should report all the progress made today. Rumsfeld will now sign those twenty letters home. Yep, great progress.
