got my Time--am cancelling my subscription
I thought I'd do it today in hope that there's a bunch of us. My Mom tore up the cover as soon as she looked at it-spoiled my plans for a dart board. You know, it doesn't help to know that Hitler and Stalin were also on the cover--they may have been evil, but they weren't incompetent. And they had to work their way to the top. Bush only got to be Antichrist because of his father's connections.

1. Also, Hitler and Stalin were vilified. This article,
from what I gather, has a positive spin to it - talking about his leadership and....oh nevermind, I can't go on. I'm cancelling mine, too.

2. The story on Bush is a fluff piece too
Even though they say that it isn't necessarily an honor to be chosen Person of the Year--the story seems highly complimentary to me.

5. Also cancelled
Goddess40's mom here. I cancelled both Time and Newsweek after the election. Told them I would consider resubscribing when they quit beating the drums for *.

3. Gave up on Time years ago.
The only weekly I have a subscription to is "The New Republic". Though they seem to be entrenched with the DNC.

4. I'm rippng the cover off to send with my letter back to them.
While I do note their justification and can't argue over Bush's* impact, the fact is that just having him on the cover ADDS to his impact. If they had any social conscience for themselves, their kids, for others, I think they would have stopped this practice of "celebrating" individuals for their impact, good or BAD. It is a copout, after all, given that their sychophantic "reporting" has enabled this SOB for the past 4+ years.

My dad took out the mail, saw the cover and then almost shouted "pornography!" as he threw it in the trash...

19. Who Gives A Rat's Ass Anyway About This Man of the Year BS?
This particular acknowledgement that Time magazine has been giving for too many years has never made any kind of sense to me anyway. I view the whole thing as just a gimmick on Time's part to jack up the sale of the magazine late in the year during "holiday" season.
They at Time would like to believe that this is a weighty event that everyone anxiously awaits and it really has some "meaning". Please--let's just get over it. It means about as much as which models make it to the SI cover in the swimsuit edition.

20. Get a subscription to Harper's. They've got a good editorial on fraud
in this January's new issue and several other very interesting articles. Have a feeling they might be setting the stage for more focus on the election fraud. We'll see. I might renew my subscription if that proves to be the case. I'd planned to drop it.
