from the "You can NEVER be TOO cynical" dept. (Wal-Mart)
I saw a new ad on CNN.

Wal-Mart was celebrating the fact that THEY allow the Salvation Army to ring their bells in front of THEIR stores.

and, get this, they touted the fact that they gave $5 to the community ever hour (or minute or something)

the same outfit that pays so little that EMPLOYED people still need welfare/foodstamps to survive!

thanks Wal-Mart!

2. The greed factory kust built one of their mini-stores near my
neighborhood, over ojections of course. It is the gaudiest eyesore! It did come into some use for me though. I would go over after dark and put pro-Kerry and anti-Bush fliers on the windshields.

3. I hope you don't mind if I vent
I am just ABSOLUTELY disgusted by Wallmart and their terrorist...I mean terrible effect on communities. They shou,ld be required to compensate the town they destroy....I mean move into for all the good paying jobs lost as a result.

4. No health benefits for the flunkies either. But they got that Salvation
Army thing going for them.

Which is nice.

5. this is the opening
that the United Food and Commercial Workers Union is looking for. Now they can rightfully say that if Walmart allows the Salvation Army to solicit in front of their stores, then they have to allow union solicitation as well.

6. Shouldn't have to be 'the' opening
It's against the law to prohibit union organizers from talking to employees. I know that doesn't count under this admin, but it IS the law.
