Bush first President in U.S. history to send out a Xmas card w/Bible verse
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,142178,00.html

President Bush has become the first President in U.S. history to send out a Christmas card with a Bible verse. About 2 million friends and supporters received a card that featured a painting of the White House's Red Room and this line from the book of Psalms: "Let us come before him (note: God or Bush?) with Thanksgiving and extol him with music and song."

Meanwhile, many fundamentalist Christians are irritated that Bush chose to use the greeting of "Happy holidays" at his press conference yesterday rather than "Merry Christmas".

4. His use of scripture wouldn't bother me at all...
... if I thought he was a Christian. I don't think he believes in God anymore than I do. You don't have to be a genius to feign faith to win political favor. Every thing he has done since taking office points to a man diametrically opposed to everything Jesus Christ ever stood for. He has no more right to spout scripture than he does putting on those quasi-military uniforms he seems to like lately.

7. Look in the dictionary for definition of "Merry"
The first adjective is "gay." Bitching Neo-Christians: you obviously haven't done your homework! Imagine the howl from them if we all started saying "Gay Christmas" instead of "happy holidays!" - what a riot!
Merry is also described as "carefree," "blithe," and "festive mood," etc: With the war, poverty, and the seething hate of our country's "christians" permeating our national consciousness, I dont think "Xmas 2004" deserves the label "merry."
