Mike Malloy just made a scary prediction. |
|
Malloy thinks that if Bush's approval ratings slide below 50%, he is convinced that there maybe another 9/11 style terrorist attack or worse. :scared:
God help us all!

Sad prediction....but that would save them But at the same time...they haven't caught Osama or Saddam and it will show that Homeland Security don't mean a damn thing.

3. That wouldn't save them. It would show they're not providing |
|
security and "questions would be asked".
Why didn't * do "a", "b", "c", etc. when it was obvious that these things needed to be done to improve US security.
a = funding first responders
b = port security
c = etc.

Times are different. Intel community is growing to hate Bush. If his popularity drops below fifty its going to be because people don't trust him any more. So any funny moves he pulls will be seen. He is running out of room to run. Thus he may love to have such a distraction but he is running into the key reason massive conspiracies don't work. They fall apart over time.

5. AWOL Won't Survive (Politically) Another Attack On 'Murican |
|
Soil.. I think it will look obvious to all what is happening. He will be exposed as either completely incompetant or tried for treason and kicked out of office.
AWOL needs to do some sucking up to the WORLD if wants to have a legitimate run at re-election. We know he won't do that though.. because he would be seen as 'weak' by the neocons. heh..
he's screwed.

16. It's like that Daffy Duck magic trick... |
|
(an old Bugs and Daffy cartoon where they're competing on stage; the audience loves every simple thing Bugs does, but Daffy can't get a laugh. Cue the crickets. Finally, Daffy does a fabulous magic trick, culminating in him blowing himself up. As his ghost floats up, Bugs tells him that the crowd loved him and wants an encore. The punchline is something to the effect of "yeah, but I can only do it once".)
It remains to be seen whether this would help or hurt. Probably, it'll do both.

but I also think we'll see a similar attack if his ratings don't slide below 50%. So, he'll be trivially correct.

Hope I can hear you chat to Mike Webb as well. It was a good chat you had with Malloy though.

P.S. You should talk to Webb about DU as well. Cause we're the tops!

A good Democratic spinster will say that this proves that Bush is unable to protect the American people from terrorist attacks, even though he was given a blank check to do almost anything he wanted to do. For Bush, the best conspiracy is to create a thwarted rather than successful terrorist attack, in order to show that he is strong on national security and also that the threat of terrorism is not over. Furthermore, the best place for the attack to supposedly happen is the Republican convention, in order to either a) smear the Democrats as supporting terrorism, or b) show that the terrorists want Bush to lose and thus voting for Bush is bad for the terrorists and good for the USA.

First, he won't need to cancel the election if he does that right. Second, a thwarted attack can prove that the current measures, including the Fascist Act and the Junta Security Bill, are necessary to protect the American people.

but not on Murican soil. I still say it would be against some troops overseas or a ship; some military installation. This would have the doubters rally 'round the flag and their glorious leader. But it will have to be timed so that the bounce from this lasts until the election next year.

will have a number of ideas planned out.
Remember, when 9-11 came down, the very next day Rummy was foaming about "let's attack Iraq." The 300+page Patriot Act was whipped out just after the anthrax attacks on the Dem. Senate leaders.
They are clever, and they don't get limits or human suffering. They will try something.
And, they will continue their swath of destruction (they call it creative destruction) through our constitution, our economy, and the world, until somehow their regime grinds to a close.
It's Bedtime for BushCo's regime.

22. North Korea could be their ace in the hole. A true wild card. |
|
They could still sorta blame that on Clinton. Besides an attack on the west coast would bring California and those Cascadians to heel under General John Asskrackkks boot.

Huge military installation on the left coast. We are due for something big here. The FBI minders of some of the alleged 9-11 hijackers were in San Diego--operations already in place, just over the border from Mexico....I'm scaring myself!

24. a republican house member (or senate member) addressed this |
|
a few weeks ago. Said to the White House that if we had another 911, that they would be to blame because they haven't done much for real security and he pointed out what needed to be done. They told him to get lost and never show up at the white house again. (There was a thread here at DU, that's where I got the info.)
If we keep getting the word out that Bushco would take the blame, that might be a way to convince them not to try it. I also believe they were the perpetrators of 911.

Terry Jeffrey (VRWC Scaife-oid) was reporting on MSNBC tonight. He said that it was dangerous for Democrats to attack the president because it made America more vulnerable to attack.
Hmmm...

Every nasty thing this administration has been doing to destroy us is making us vulnerable to attack.
