All of a sudden the FDA approves drugs to quickly? |
|
Remember when the Republican controlled Congress pressed the Clinton administration and even before that the Bush appointee, Kessler to speed up drug approvals? This was to help their corporate pharmaceutal buddies get their drugs on the market.
Now the Vioxx, Celebrex, Aleive scares is having everyone say that FDA may be approving drugs too quickly. Duhhh....?
Deregulation Karma I call it.

Did you really mean "too quickly?" If not, since that's not what you typed, what do you mean by "to quickly?"

3. Actually, the FDA only does that for big time manufacturers. . . |
|
smaller pharmaceutical companies seem to get more scrutiny (I've worked for a few).

4. The FDA's new role is to OK as many drugs as fast as possible |

And forget spending much time testing them-- it's another victory for the pharmaceutical companies.
Yet another agency, put in place for our protection, GUTTED.
He's gutted pretty much all of them now, hasn't he??
Let's see... we can't sue the pharmaceutical companies ("tort reform"), we can't get cheaper drugs in Canada, and now the FDA is going full steam ahead, putting out as many drugs as it can.
I'd say the drug companies hit the jackpot!!

5. The new FDA has a FEE -- yes, a FEE -- Big Pharma can pay for Fast Track |
|
Yuppers. No pretense of impartiality anymore. If you are big enough and can afford it, you can pay a fee to the FDA to allow your company to supply its own testing data and fast-track your drug approval.

7. Aleve is just low-dose Neproxin |
|
It is still available by prescription, too. The approval for a non-prescription strength OTC version also came via the FDA without the years of trials usually required for an OTC introduction.
