I had something interesting happen.
All this talk about Merry Christmas Verses Seasons Greetings etc... Anyway I was in Pathmark, just getting done buying food for Christmas dinner. Maybe I should give a little background on the area, it's a predominately Jewish and African American area. I don't normally shop there because there are places much closer to me and it's a drive but Pathmark does tend to have higher end items like goose, duck etc...Plus it's HUGE. I usually shop at Auldi and Shoprite. Anyway one of the employees was wishing people a Happy Holiday, Seasons Greetings and when he spotted a Hispanic he would say Felice Navidad and men with the skullcaps Happy Hanukkah, I was noticing this as I was bagging. When I passed him he paused and looked at my chest and then said hesitantly Merry Christmas. I said Happy Holidays back. As I walked outside it was cold and my coat was open and my necklace was showing, it's a crucifix. Oh that explains it. Actually that seemed pretty smart of him. Personally I think Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings is easier. Covers everybody. I wasn't offended at what he said but this is the first time someone said it to me this year. They usually say Happy Holidays but my cross is usually under my shirt.

1. He's one clever guy!
It's nice that he can make his greetings more personal. I'm with you, Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings is much easier. When I worked retail, I often didn't have time at the Holidays to really looks for clues.
