Poll question: Who would you vote for in the Ukraine?
I've seen lots of fighting about this in LBN and others. A tally would be good.

Personally though, I find the arguments against Yuschenko to be rather simplistic, and one could use the same logic to make an argument supporting Saddam. I've yet to see any real evidence he's really bad news, as opposed to someone controlled by Putin and the Russian Mob?

1. I'll vote for the guy who got poisoned, over the one who poisoned him
Or am I confusing this with a soap opera?

3. Poison? Even I believed it. But, you know what? It’s a lie
or so says Justin Raimondo.

Basically the "doctor" who verified the poisoning isn't a medical doctor, or a doctor of any type.

Per the article:
http://bellaciao.org/en/article.php3?id_article=4807

Surely, one might assume, a man with a "Dr." in front of his name is a sacred oracle, from whom only truth can spring: and, in any case, Zimpfer was the doctor in charge of the case - right?

Wrong. In news accounts of the Yushchenko "poisoning" mystery, Zimpfer is variously described as the "president" or the "head" of the Rudolfinerhaus clinic, but a better description of his position is "administrative chief." His official title is President of the clinic’s Board of Supervisors. The chief medical doctor at the clinic, who supervised and had first-hand knowledge of Yushchenko’s case, was Dr. Lothar Wicke. I put that in the past tense because, on December 9, Dr. Wicke resigned. It seems that his skeptical remarks concerning the unproven status of the "poisoning" accusations had proved injurious to his health.

4. Pat Buchanan's buddy?
Raimondo may be right on some things, but he sure isn't on everything.

5. Not saying he is. But I
doubt everything which is hyped by our so called main stream media. Especially when tons of US money and NED is involved in the mix.

10. what?
You read it on the internet by someone you like so you assume it's true? Have you seen that guy's face? How do you suppose he got ugly withing a few months time? What, he went to a plastic surgeon and said make me as ugly as possible because I'm too handsome to win an election? I don't think so. Poisoning has been reported in a wide variety of reputable sources. I think the argument against it is highly improbable, absurd actually.

7. It depends on which region and ethnicity I was
If I were from the West and more likely to be Ukrainian, Yuschenko

If I were from the East and more likely to be Russian Yanukovich.

Since I am neither, but I remember that the Western Pro-ukrainian population collaborated heavily with the Germans in WWII, I vote for Yanukovich.

11. It's okay to steal an election as long as Bush dislikes you?
Is that the litmus test? There is some serious hypocrisy evidenced in the poll above.

13. Yushchenko without a doubt
Yanukovich would just be a continuation of Kuchma's corrupt right-wing, pro-corporate dominance rule.

Yushchenko actually seems willing to change the course in the Ukraine and follow in the direction of other successful eastern european countries like Poland, Czech Republic, and Hugary. What he has accomplished so far is pretty damn amazing, such as breaking the pro-government state controlled media.

I also have a high school friend who is a missionary in Ukraine. He has told me that Yushchenko's support is coming from the young, intellectual, and liberal crowd. I definitely support them over Putin and the corporate energy intersts that are financing Yanukovich.
