NBC nightly News was censored tonight. Did u see it? |
|
They were reporting on the attack at the dining hall and got to the point where they said something like, Al Suna (sp?) said it was a suicide bombing but US military investigators are still trying to determine whether it was a lucky shot from a rocket or mortar shell or evidence.... Then a blue screen pops up that says this.
NEW YORK DPS
NN 12/21/04
WORDS REDMON MOSUL
TRT C/S SO THEY DO NOT GET HURT
It was on there for maybe 3 or 4 seconds. I have it saved on the dvr. I will have to take a picture of it and try to post it. It was the weirdest thing I have ever seen.
Did anyone else see this? :wtf:

4. I watched the entire broadcast on NBC... |
|
...I guess I missed the "censored" part. Didn't see any "blue screens" or any other hiccups in the broadcast.

5. they are speculating....as they do 99.9% |
|
of the time on cnn, that it might have been a bomber....
just speculation, hypothesis' of what might have happened, perhaps.

17. Well, I'm Radio not TV but... |
|
That laswt line looks like an out cue. If the reporter does not do a lockout, the last few words of the recorded segment are printed out so the anchor knows it's done and that it's time for him or her to talk again.

but I only remember reading as far as "Mosul."
I'm usually "multitasking" during the "snooze" so I may have glanced at the screen 2 seconds into it. Having not seen the last line, I just assumed it was a technical glitch but it definitaly suggests something else with that included. Too weird.

8. Please post this if you can. |

I'm sure many of us would love to see it, and I'm sure many in the upper levels of the freeper hierarchy would hate it if we did.

9. probably just a technical glitch, I wouldn't get worked up about it. |
|
Seriously, there are plenty of real issues out there to worry about without going off half-cocked because some tech-guy in the studio punched the wrong button. Probably just a cue-up screen for one of the pieces they were getting ready to air. "TRT" would, I assume, be short for "tape run time".

10. I was watching that clip on our NBC News channel in Orlando... |
|
...but I don't remember seeing anything like that. The story seemed to complete, then went back to the anchor. That was on the 6:30PM National news last evening.

11. Somebody pushed the wrong button, that's all |
|
And you got the feed for either the teleprompter, or a bad edit job. Looks like it is the credits for the piece you were listening to, and somebody forgot to push the button when the piece finished. I've seen this before. It is much like national feeds on radio, you have all of this technical information coming down the feed, then the countdown, then the tone and show. You push the wrong button at the wrong time, and the whole town can hear this. Same principle applies here.

|
Here's a list of articles chronicling the big right wing rise of the mainstream media censoring itself... http://www.consortiumnews.com/archive/media.htmlAnyone who hasn't seen the Irish reporter Carol Coleman interview with the chimp, definitely check it out.. http://www.lies.com/wp/2004/06/26/the-carole-coleman-interview/

14. Transmission by Jeremy Redmon of the Richmond Times-Dispatch |
|
It's a transmission from an embedded reporter. Here's his story from Mosul: http://www.timesdispatch.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=RTD/MGArticle/RTD_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1031779796661Not censorship, a glitch when another story was moving.

16. I saw it, but I don't think it's a big deal |
|
It looked like a header/trailer from a feed.
If it said something like "B NEGOTIATING W/SELF N/F BCST" (boosh** negotiating with self / not for broadcast) I might have raised an eyebrow or two or three...
