Ugh..I'm getting disgusted.

"GOP Has Lock on South, and Democrats Can't Find Key"
President Bush (news - web sites) dominated the South so completely in last month's presidential election that he carried nearly 85% of all the counties across the region — and more than 90% of counties where whites are a majority of the population, according to a Times analysis of election results and census data.

The Times' analysis, which provides the most detailed picture yet of the vote in Southern communities, shows that Bush's victory was even more comprehensive than his sweep of the region's 13 states would suggest.

"West and South lead growth in the U.S."

Arizona had the second-largest growth, up 3 percent to 5.7 million, while Florida was third with a 2.3 percent increase to 17.4 million. Georgia, Texas, Delaware and North Carolina also were in the top 10.

Massachusetts was the only state that had a population decline — albeit down a slight 3,800 people, or 0.1 percent, to 6.41 million.
Retired utility worker Lloyd Wicliff, 58, moved from the Los Angeles area to North Las Vegas last year. “Your money goes a little further here,” he said. “A nice house in Southern California can be a nicer home in southern Nevada.”

Message: Blue states are taxed to death. Red states are the place to be.

"Christians protest actions that play down Christmas' religious nature"

Julie West is tired of being wished "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas." She's annoyed with department stores that use "Season's Greetings" banners, and with public schools that teach about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa but won't touch the Nativity story.

John Whitehead, director of the Rutherford Institute, a group in Charlottesville, Va., that defends against challenges to speech and religion rights, says the recent trend has been for schools and municipalities to excise "all mention of Christmas, out of some misshapen idea that this respects diversity."
