Al Franken risks his life. Bill O'Reilly bitches about Christmas heathens.
Al Franken, Robin Williams and others are currently on a USO tour of Iraq. No place there is safe and these entertainers know it. In other words, they could get killed.

Meanwhile O'Reilly and the other right wing maniacs are spewing hatred about people who supposedly hate Christmas and Christians.

Think about that for a moment. Would Jesus be in Iraq or on right wing talk radio? Exactly which of these two groups of people represent "moral values?"

13. You Must Love Michael Moore, Then, Too!
Al is hilarious and a WONDERFUL broadcaster. The fact that he's a Democrat only improves his standing in the world.

2. I don't listen to him,
but it would be funny if someone who did called in and asked him when he was going to go to Iraq to support the troops. Wonder what he would say?

11. Someone did do that to Hannity
I can't stand him (can't think of the exact word to describe him, smarmy?), but was flipping stations while stuck in traffic. Some caller called him out on him not going over there, and he was caught off-guard. He started with all the stuff about how he supports them at home, how he wasn't invited, etc, but the caller was having none of it. It was definitely great to see him taken down a peg.

4. This is state of this country perception is reality
Talk big and people will follow like sheep, regardless what your actions are. Frankly speaking it’s a lost cause. People who listen and believe them are lost individuals that will never be reformed.

of the seasons, this one being the Winter Solstice.

6. Not only that they had a mortar incident already
that Franken described on radio. Let's hope they come home safely. I'm sure they will have a lot of first-hand witness accounts of the war that you won't get on the regular news.

8. Not A Big Surprise
O'Reilly and Limbaugh both avoided serving in Vietnam, and Hannity avoided serving as well.

9. The Troops Would Probably Rather Have Franken
I mean, even if they disagree with his politics & agree with O'Reilly.

Franken is funny and uses good judgement to have his jokes suit his audience. You could think about what Franken says and he makes some good points, or you could just laugh. O'Reilly is angry, not funny and mean. Even if they agree with his politics they put up with enough of that stuff.

I bet Franken is a nice, refreshing change for them.

Don't forget the "Liberals hate our troops." And since when do Conservative blowhards really make personal sacrifices for the war?

16. O Reilly wont even refer to Al as Al Franken
He calls him Stuart Smalley or something like that.

He started doing it after his 'frivilous' lawsuit against Franken was laughed out of court.

17. the conservative moral christian talk show hosts
represent true Murkan ideals.

at least they're not commie hippie traitors like all the other hollyweird types.

I fall down on my knees and thank god every day for true Murkan heroes like O'Reilly and that gorgeous hunk, Rush Limbaugh.

you leftist creeps are scum, just always criticizing and trying to tear down.

or so I'm told.

18. O'Lielly is a coward and so are the rest of 'em
Talk is cheap. They like to act like they support the troops, but Al puts his money where his mouth is. O'lielly is a Chickenhawk, just like most of the Shrub admin. They talk, and talk and talk about it (war) but when it comes right down to it, they run and hide. Shrub ditched Vietnam and Kerry went. Repukes are a big bunch of cowards period.

19. "Would Jesus be in Iraq or on right wing talk radio?"
I have to laugh -- I once posed essentially the same question to a "christian" over on the AOL boards.

I said that I thought that if Christ were with us today he would more likely be working with AIDS patients than sitting on a couch with that godly man Pat Robertson on "The 700 Club".

You should of seen the nasty flung at me for that! I was "a sick and disgusting person with a perverted life" for implying our Lord and Saviour would be working with the modern day equivilent of the lepers. :)

I love busting RW "christian" chops with my NT Christianity.

21. I can hardly wait till Franken gets back
As much as he talked up his book every day - I'm looking forward to him reminding the right wing just who really cares about the troops. Reminding them over and over again. He'll be shoving it up their collective noses so deep they'll be dreaming about the USO tour for a long time to come.

On a serious note, I do look forward to his first hand accounts of meetng the soldiers and what he saw going on with his own eyes. He's going to be one heck of a reporter to us.
