1. Vietnam could be used as a guide
55,000 dead and 300,000 plus wounded on the American side.

Millions of Vietnamese killed.

Light at the end of the tunnel.

Can't afford to lose.

Can't let those who have died in the war die in vain.

Must win at all costs.

Hubris will prevail and it will only end when there is mayhem and civil war erupting in this country. Which will only happen after a draft.

herself in Vietnam.

19. Ah yes, a RW business associate of mine tried that one last week
He's my age (old enough to have served in Viet Nam) and said something like "we lost Vietnam because of the liberal media". I jumped his shit and reminded him that he dodged the draft just like I did and that the Vietnamese didn't want to be a U.S. colony----just like IraqNam. Asked him if he had oldtimers disease and had he forgotten what a clusterfuck that last one was. He supports the IraqNam war and thinks we should just "level the place". I told him it appears we are doing just that, only a little slower than with nukes.

Fundie RW nutjobs are hopeless cases. They do not use their brains.

2. I've been wondering the same thing about the death count
If dead bodies don't wake up the people then maybe tax dollars will.

3. I wish all the dead bodies would wake up and eat those that
support this war. Now THAT would be irony, beautful, gruesome irony.

5. 'It wont happen to me'
I think that the number of US deaths, although way too high, are still low enough for soldiers and their family memebers to cling to the 'it wont happen to me' perspective.

I think if the death count rose to something like one in every ten troops sent out there people would have to wake up.

I only hope it doesnt come to that.

7. When there is a draft
when we've spent every penny of social security and mr. and mrs. amerika find they have to support the parents, and give up their children.
When people realize that it's just too damn much, and you can't have both guns and butter.

Then they'd cook the numbers. Perhaps they already are. Their blackout
on press coverate of arriving coffins is unprecedented, and could have
been done to allow them lie about the number of fatalities.

They already don't count those who they can airlift out before they die.

Does anybody even have figures for how many of our troops have been
severely wounded and crippled for life?

To them, it doesn't matter how many troops die, as long as they can
draft more, and draft they will. They don't really care what we think,
either, they consider us subjects, not citizens.

10. And they said...
Stupid, fat, and drunk was no way to go through life.

Tens of millions of Americans are proving you can do exactly that - every single fucking day of their lives.

What's worse is that the stupid, fat spawn of these RW nutjobs will never see the military when the draft comes. They'll be too fat and slow to stop roadside IEDs in Baghdad.

13. All the money and oil and power in the world isn't worth one human life.
A human being represents the infinite, the Great Spirit and what Might Be.

All the other is just stuff. It can be replaced.

Who can create a human life?

15. I don't think there is a limit this time.
The hard-headedness of Smirkaholic fans is at epidemic proportions. If they can believe DumbAssFakeCowboy is more of a war hero than John Kerry, well, nuff said.

I think the sheeple, or whatever you want to call them, will only become more defensive, more belligerent and more aggressive the worse things get in this "War on Terror."

18. "Fighting on is only option, Americans say"
read this story in the NY Times to learn how real Americans feel about the war.

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/22/national/22react.html?oref=login

Needless to say, these Americans would consider your questions to be those of a "pessimist naysayer" in Scott McClellan's words.

Wave the flag. God Bless 'Murka. Support our troops. America right or wrong. The Star Spangled Banner.

And all of the rest of the claptrap that justifies murder.

22. As we count among us more and more fallen/wounded Troops
who are related somehow or are familar with, we will soon raise our collective voices. We have not yet reached that point/level.

But if we continue......its inevitable.....

The Bush Boys want to desperately end it but know not HOW?
