Did Laura take down Bill Clinton's picture to make room for
Xmas decorations?
Will it be rehung after the holidays, or will it show up at Laura's spring yard sale in Crawford?

<excerpt>
We're getting reports that all of Laura Bush's lovely Christmas decorations may have bumped some of the White House's usual art out of the building. Like the official portrait of Bill Clinton. A Wonkette operative writes:

A friend of mine just got the chance to get a White House tour, and she really wanted to see President Clinton's portrait close up. She couldn't find it, and an usher quietly told her that it had been taken down to make room for Christmas decorations. But there was Bush 41 and Reagan still on the wall.

6. Nobody's arresting her, DCrat43
The point is it's extremely inappropriate, disrespectful and just plain tacky to take down Clinton's portrait while leaving others. "Can" she? Sure. This crowd "CAN" spend us into monumental debt, get us into unnecessary wars, squander the credibility of the country worldwide -- of course they CAN do whatever they want in their decorating scheme. That's hardly the point. :eyes:

8. NO. She can't. She isn't even a salaried gov't employee.
As was established when Hillary needed a lawyer and was refused the right to use the White House counsel.

The White House is NOT there for her to destroy.

And the crown she is putting in the Lincoln Bedroom is obscene.

4. I heard that too. Somewhere
It may've been on NPR.

A couple of years ago, Laura's Whitehouse Christmas theme was 'Whitehouse Pets'.
There wasnt room on the tree for a Socks or a Buddy ornament.
Each of Millies puppies was represented.

5. If true, then her respect for "The People's House" should be noted...
...when the next Dem occupant moves in; by replacing her official portrait with this one:

10. Laura, the spaced-out First Lady, didn't do any of it.
She didn't rearrange furniture or art work, she didn't put up Christmas trees. She didn't even have a plan, but she did take credit for it just like her hubby takes credit for all the legislation he loses that makes it to his desk from the Democrats like it was his idea all along.

No there was probably some flunky behind the decorating committee, who thought it would be fun to take Clinton's portrait down.

18. Report that others were taken down including Bush 41 and
about 4-5 others. There was a followup story to this one about the Clinton portrait. Not sure if I read the followup in Wonkette or somewhere else.
