Hey, How is that WMD Commission doing?
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/06/wmd.panel/

They have a report due in three months. It has been 10 1/2 months since the illustrious group was formed by W to "figure out why" apparent intelligence failures regarding Saddam Hussein's weapons capabilities occurred.

I haven't heard a lot about their work so far. They must be so into their work they haven't had time to even issue a press release on it.

At least we can rest assured that Laurence Silberman is on the case.

1. They found WMD!
My imaginary friend had them under his piggy bank. Good thing 1300+ Americans have been killed for them.

2. Correct me if I'm wrong.
When Bush told the Nation that we were going to Iraq after those "weapons of mass distruction", I don't recall any mention of spreading democracy across the Arab world.
Does anyone else recall?

3. The reason kept changing. First it was WMD. Then it was
getting rid of Sadaam, then it was to establish democracy etc. That in itself is enough for impeachment to my way of thinking. Why people are not storming the WH is beyond me. After the last bombing of the soldiers in the mess tent I thought people would wake up. Of course Shrub is still maintaining the myth that we are on a mission for peace.

4. Well it was mentioned
but "for administrative reasons" (Wolfowitz) they decided to go hard and heavy on WMD, links to "terrorism", and a threat a growing or dangerous threat not an IMMINENT threat except that time that Rummy said it.

In most every speech that W made or his minions made they mentioned it but way down on the list. So see they said it *DING* but there was no way their base, let alone Americans, would support occupying (*not actually mentioned) another country at such great cost(*not actually mentioned)in lives and money just for spreading the ideals of DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM!!! (hardly mentioned)

Hell 'Murkans fell for the "Saddam......9/11....war on terror" cheap trick so there is no way now to expect them to inspect what they were told before the war.

Cognitive dissonance.

It is like a child not wanting to admit that their parents are divorcing-it is too uncomfortable to face.
