I read an article in a European online magazine about the attack. The article said that "grenades" were launched. I was unclear about what kind of grenades.
I'm assuming here that a grenade could be launched by some type of launching device - this could be a pretty big grenade.
However, it could also be a pineapple grenade, which would just be thrown into the mess hall, after the pin was pulled. In other words, it could have been easily done. Imagine that level of casualties, from just 3 hand grenades. And if you look at the photos of the mess hall, there is a big hole in the tent ceiling. There are no holes in the floor, no huge bomb damage to be seen. So it could very well have been hand grenades.
This means that we are very vulnerable, indeed.
