Children's advocates in the US are furious over a new TV show, Who's Your Daddy? It features a young adopted woman trying to pick her biological father out of a line-up of eight men - seven of which are impostors.

By interviewing and observing the men, she must pick out her real dad. If she gets it correct, she wins £60,000. If she gets the wrong one, the counterfeit dad takes the prize money.

The show is airing next month on Rupert Murdoch's Fox channel.
"This isn't just appalling, it's destructive," said Adam Pertman, executive director of The Cradle, an adoption counselling institute.
