Help! We're having trouble finding "blue" shopping!
Edited on Wed Dec-22-04 10:36 PM by IanDB1
Blue = Democrat
Red = Republican

We don't have a COSTCO around here, and we need to buy at least a couple toys and such.

We're going to buy a video at Barnes & Noble.

Toys R Us is affiliated with Amazon, yes? No? Amazon is 58% Blue.

Does anyone know about:
Kmart
kaybee toys

My wife is really pissed about this, by the way. She really doesn't want to make this holiday shopping any more difficult, and walmart is 5 minutes away.

She just doesn't get it.

Please please please tell me Kaybee toys is blue.

3. Kaybee Toys: Doesn't make political contributions
Protecting the Company from Escalating Demands for Contributions
Some business leaders have increasingly expressed concern about escalating demands for political contributions. Consolidated Stores Corp, a U.S.-based retail chain that operates KayBee Toys, decided to avoid this problem by not giving at all. The company's general counsel explained, "We realized that if we were going to get into making political contributions, it would be endless. We decided we would be better off if we simply avoided it altogether... We don't believe political contributions could have any bearing on our success."

4. According to the following website...
www.choosetheblue.com/main.php

Kaybee toys is not on their list because they haven't made any substantial political contributions.

9. Forget KMart
I would buy at Amazon before KMart. Target mostly contributes to Reps but also contributes to the community. Also, try local stores. I know it's hard and I live in an area with many options. Sometimes we just have to buy better and not the best. Do check out the DU group on this issue.

11. I'm not gettin' any tonight
My wife is REALLY pissed that I'm being stubborn about this.

I'm willing to buy diapers at walmart as a compromise, but they are not otherwise going to see a dime of my money.

I've looked at http://www.buyblue.org/
and http://www.choosetheblue.com

Neither site is very comprehensive.

She doesn't get it.

If we don't do SOMETHING now, we're probably going to be dragged out into the street never to be heard from again.

It would help if we had some clear idea where to go and not go instead of hunting around online and screaming at one another.

In any case, I'm not gettin' any tonight.

Thanks, Repugs.

14. I'm sorry that I did not get what you were talking about . . .

However, in small towns like I live, we only have Wal-Mart. We don't have stores just for toys. We all would have to buy EVERYTHING online.

Good luck with your venture though.

15. Hey, I found this fun too.
Go to this site and type in a name, zip code, town, whatever.

<http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php>

Go to this site and type in Lou Dobbs. I found the results rather surprising.

Also, I love just going through famous peoples names, addresses, and it's amazing some have given up to $50,000.

17. ...
does it really matter? I've never been to a walmart or a costco but if I ever find one close by I'll go shop around. Buying gum at a walmart or a costco doesn't ensure republican or democratic wins.:crazy:
