Should we send thank you cards, gifts, etc. to countries that protest *
I remember feeling such gratitude and satisfaction when the news reported that * was greeted by mobs of angry protesters in Chile and then later in Canada.

I think it would be a nice way to leverage the activism of these citizens of the world that take the time to protest and show their disapproval for *.

It would let them know how much we appreciate their anti-* activism; it would let the world know that * does not represent all Americans; and it also might get reported in the media, and would thereby remind other Americans that * is unpopular at home and in the world.

So how can we let these activists in other countries know that we appreciate them taking the time to protest *?

4. Global Exchange might have some ideas,
for how to communicate with groups in other countries.

I think it's a great idea to send a thank-you note or an e-mail. I hope the differences in languages is not a problem. There are a lot of English speaking countries, for example you mentioned Canada, but even in other countries often there are people that know English.
Usually a demonstration is organized by one of more groups that probably have websites. They would probably be delighted to get thanks and encouragement from others.
