He started out as - get this: Giuliani's chauffeur

1. Only in Amerika.
And from 6 million taser man the nutjob was slated to head the nation's "Homeland Security Agency."

So, who else finds it odd that Bush would select a crook to be the nation's top defender?

5. You would have thought Homeland Security Chief was a more important job...
...to George Bush.

Guess not.

I guess it's just a job for channeling money to cronies.

8. This might amuse you..
I've access to an NYPD forum where I found this posted:

"Kerik? Are we that bereft as a nation to have to turn to this moron? How will he ever cut the puppet strings to King Rudy? Is this the price King Rudy wanted for helping Bush with the campaign? Shoving a moron like Kerik in yet another post he is grossly unqualified to fill? This is Kerik we are talkingh about---a guy that got every post he ever had on the basis of how many feet he could kiss, and how many poltical hacks he could suck up to. So what did Kerik do to earn this job? Intellect--hahahahahahahahahahahhaha--that's a big "NO". Work his way up the ranks ? Again no---in fact when King Rudy found this little runt and stuck him in 1Police Plaza--he called all the bosses to tell them that they would be taking orders from a toadie armed with a GED----and not a passing grade on any promotional exam. That must have inspired loyalty from those bosses huh? Did kerik get to take off the court jester's hat when King Rudy made him PC?

I will feel so much safer with Kerik running the show---look at the great job he did in following King Rudy as he ran away from the towers---and away from his men knowingly giving away their lives as they climbed the tower steps to serve the people of nyc---the same people and Mayor who gave them zeros in the last contract before 9-11.But then King Rudy and his jester made money off the dead cops and firemen too---his speaking fees were never higher in the wake of other mens sacrifices."

************************************************************

I have to say, this comment was one of the milder ones on this topic on this particular board. I can't attest to the veracity of the facts noted in the statement, but the sentiment is pretty typical. It makes sense: who would know better than the NYPD rank & file abt his qualifications.

10. I can attest to this post's veracity. I know a few NYPD cops and
they all have this opinion of Kerik. Toady, lickspittle, dumb, ass-kissing political know-nothing. They were enraged when this moron went higher than chauffeur.

11. The chauffeur job is ALWAYS a stepping stone to being a boss.
In the Mafia.
