Send Message To Soldiers Away From Home. Holiday Audio Postcard
Edited on Fri Dec-24-04 02:12 PM by bigtree

We hate the killing. So do a large majority of the soldiers we send abroad. Please suspend your politics to give a shout out to those who are on the front lines of Bush's manufactured wars.

CALL 1 800 706 1050 AND LEAVE A 15 SECOND MESSAGE TO THE SOLDIERS AWAY FROM HOME. IT IS THE HOLIDAY AUDIO POSTCARD PROGRAM WHICH WILL AIR THE MESSAGES ON THE AMERICAN FORCES NETWORK RADIO.

PACKAGE TIPS

Packages sent to soldiers in Iraq must be addressed to specific people and include their military address. Generically addressed items will not be delivered.

The Army recommends allowing a minimum of three weeks for packages to reach Iraq by Christmas. Many people try to send things even earlier.

Senders are responsible for the U.S. postage needed to mail their packages to an Army post office in New Jersey. The Army pays for postage between the United States and Iraq.

Welcome gifts include snack foods, reading material, calling cards and personal hygiene items such as lip balm, soap and Wet Naps. Many soldiers do not have room for larger items.

Any other Christmas expressions or tips from/for supporting the soldiers abroad?

1. not a word for the soldiers?
We are as responsible as they may be for whatever transgressions that may occur as a result of their duty. WE have killed, WE share their burden of responsibility.

After the non-responses to posts like these I almost feel ashamed to be associated with this board. Check my activism here against the war in the archives. I'm no warmongerer. I'm a peace lovin' hippie with a heavy sense of duty to those we put on the front lines of our counterfeit president's ambitions for greed and conquest.

Don't ignore the soldiers. Don't just stand back and judge them. WE are killing innocents abroad. WE failed to unseat the usurpers in the White House. WE share the blame. Come and help lift some of the burden off of our young men and women who serve our country, for bad and for good.
