The same shit as ususal whenever a Republican gets in office. I was browsing FReeperville and saw a somewhat interesting thread. It seems that a sizeable group of them are pissed that Bush is spending so much, and they are trying to get a movement of people to call, write, etc. and discourage Bush from spending.
"Hey, this is good news" I foolishly thought. Then I kept reading.
They want him to cut spending all right: On domestic issues.
They still want military spending, they still want "free education and health care for the liberated people of Iraq (It will be cheaper and cheaper as we keep killing them, I guess).
And they still want their fucking tax cuts (even though only about 4% of them will see a sizeable return that will do more than help them knock down a credit card payment).
This shit always happens, and I knew it would happen more and more as Bush kept fucking up.
There is always money for the military and tax cuts (I know, they don't cost money, but they decrease revenue and therefore its the same as spending). For some reason though, despite a deficit that his fast approaching half a trillion dollars, those greedy bastards don't want to spend even $20 million on education.
Its sick.

Democrats should be careful about making "balanced budgets" a front and center issue. If we succeed Republicans will respond by saying "OK, this is what you want. We'll give it to you" and then they will cut and hack away at social programs like there's no tomorrow. Do you think for a moment that they will mess with their precious "defense" budget or their taxcuts? This is what happened here in Texas.

I knew this would happen. It just really bothers me.
The real genius on the part of the administration was 9/11. As an added bonus to all the benifits of 9/11, they get to blame the recession and decreased revenues on it (when they aren't busy blaming Clinton, that is).

2. now you need to understand a few things about them |
|
They spend like 23 hours on that forum, so they might get an hour of sleep a night. Let's say some of them are seasoned free republic cumdumpsters, that means like two years of this routine of checking a fuckin political forum 23 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, and so on. That lack of sleep deprives the brain of rest, and since these people already fuck it up with the homemade moonshine they make behind their trailers, oh you see where I'm going with this.
I don't see how they could support vouchers though. Methinks it would be just as costly to give everyone 5000 bucks or so to go to some private school.

3. It would be even more costly |
|
Plus, if everyone goes to a private school then it will no longer be very private, will it?
And the "No Child Left Behind" proposals don't even consider the negative effects on class sizes.
Why not just fund public schools?
Besides, if poor kids get to go to private schools, how will the rich kids be sure that they are better than the poor kids?

and on top of that, They are sick in the way that they think. Look, this is the worst case scenario for me:
The Carlyle group running Diebold voting machine company's and corporations, and paid off politicians, we will be close every time but just a little less then them on the vote count totals.
Now those are the vote count totals after remote access wireless transmission takes place with Microsoft Access and the vote totals have been changed.
There HAS GOT TO BE A WAY TO FIX THIS. Please everyone here, spread the word every way that you can. Bev Harris is leading the charge here on Du in my opinion.
I think everyone here should email their Secretary of State.
