We told him: "Tell us what you want, or we'll get you something you certainly don't want"

4. You can lead the horse to water, but you can't make him drink
I hope he actually does watch it some time. You can tell him that if he really wants to argue with you about the facts, he needs to see the film first.

Good luck. It isn't always easy, carefully avoiding any talk of politics or religion or other hot-button subjects with people you see often. I've often thought this is one of the reasons why sports and the weather are such popular topics for conversation.

6. This cancels out
flygirl's gift from her freeper family: a copy of Bill O'Lielly's book.

My favorite response to that was a post suggesting that they should leave it unwrapped and give it back to them as a gift next year.

Good for you! You go! :)

11. Good Christmas thread.
Sometimes when I think of my Republcan relatives it makes me feel a LITTLE better about things. My uncle calls me and my mom pinko commie "expletive's" all the time, I just roll my eyes. He and my mom are polar opposites politically, but still the best of friends.
