Rumsfeld: Iraq failure fault of common Iraqis not trying hard enough...
His main message over a four-city tour... that the insurgency has staying power and a seemingly endless supply of weapons, and the time has come for ordinary Iraqis to realize that they — not the Americans — will ultimately decide who prevails in this conflict.

This idiot won't take responsiblity for anything, including his failure to secure Iraq. He would rather blame the Iraqis. Telling them they have to do with stones and sticks what the greatest super power on the planet can't do with all of their high tech weapons. What an idiot!

1. Maybe the ordinary Iraqis
didn't want the Americans to come to their country in the first place. Why should they have to clean up the mess we created?

2. Did it occur to Rumsfeld that the Iraqis may not want to fight their
brother Iraqis on the orders of a foreign invader? Isn't that what happened in Vietnam? The South Vietnamese Army was overrun by the NVA even though they were made up of the same people.

Mr.Rumsfeld: Your tenth grade history teacher wants to have a talk with you.

3. Can he possibly GET more insulting?
I mean seriously, can he? Is it possible?

ORDINARY IRAQIS WANT US OUT OF THERE, YOU IDJIT!!!!

My God. I just hang my head and wonder how much worse the bush criminals can possibly get....

From an Iraqi's Point of View:

Let's see, you've destroyed my home and my business, thus taking away any shelter or livelihood I once had. You killed my mother, my wife, two of my sons, my brother and three of my sisters, as well as most of my friends.

I am staying where ever someone will let me sleep on their floor, but it's rough all over, as most people don't have electricity on a regular basis and clean water is very hard to find.

I am sick right now and hoping I don't get worse, because there aren't any medical supplies and it's too dangerous to try to get to a hospital anyway. If I get much worse, I will simply die. If dehydration, starvation, or stray bombs or bullets don't get me first.

I've watched fellow Iraqis being eaten by dogs in the streets.

I've watched my country torn to ruins.

And now this guy has the balls to tell me I'm not trying hard enough?

I couldn't even bury my precious family. I have no way of supporting myself now. And I'm not trying hard enough?

24. from his point of view
the insurgents are Nazis. They want to terrorize ordinary Iraqis and prevent democracy. Deutschland was invaded and occupied as well by America (although not by the America we have now). Suppose a contingent of Nazis had gone underground and fought the invaders in a guerilla/suicide bombing style. Would they be good guys or bad guys?
Perhaps one reason they did not was because towards the end of the war, we completely destroyed the city of Dresden, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent German civilians (in just a few days), and almost the American author Kurt Vonnegut in the process.
Deutschland and Japan had their infrastructure destroyed by America too. Are they desperately poor now? Are they ruled by American puppets? Or dictators?
My grandfather, who was a machinist and a WWI vet (who thankfully never had to fight) hated FDR as much as I hate Bush. His opinion on Pearl Harbor was LIHOP. More than 400,000 Americans died in WWII and I may still have a picture of people in Baraboo, Wi burning books by German authors. Horrible things happened and the world did not end.
If Iraq is going to be a democracy, we need the help of most Iraqis. Although I marched in Feb. 2003, I certainly would like to see an Iraq democracy.

4. Mr War Secretary sir..
... it's never ever your fault isn't it?

... WMDS, Saddam, liberal media, Clinton, insurgents, Kerry and now the poor people whom you brought war and chaos upon, when does the finger pointing stop and you see your own Satanic self in the mirror?

16. Quitee possibly
The Iraqis would have preferred to decide themselves when it was time to rid themselves of Saddam and formed a different govern met. Imagine this country being invaded, citizens shot for no reason, businesses, houses, churches, bridges, electricity, everything, being destroyed by enemies who were only trying to bring us a system of government they thought was superior.

After a couple of years of that, still no electricity, no safe water, no sewage system, no hospitals, no medicine...and the invaders blame US? What would freepers think then? This gang of thugs has absolutely no redeeming qualities. They all need to be tried and put in prison for life.

19. WHAT?!
Rumdrinker and Bish have no damn clue whatsoever.

And an election? It'll only paint the winner with a big target (or Target logo, it's all good).

How dare these antichrists say this shit?

I even tried wacthing "This Week" this AM on ABC. Good lord, it is so right-wing slanted it's beyond belief. They're already talking about 2006 and if Dems don't cater to the prez they'll be voted out, just like Daschle.

out, you could get a handle on this situation.

How low can theses assholes go. BOTH Bush and Rumsfeld have blamed the mess in Iraq on IRAQIS. Do they EVER take responsibility for anything??
