the enduring IDIOCY of "Tweety" Matthews.... |
|
this morning he stated:
The LEFT BEHIND books have sold over 60 million copies while Bill Clinton's book sold 2 million... that's a 30 to 1 divide in the country.
uh, you reeking fool, you're talking about a multi-volume FICTION SERIES versus a single, LONG, autobiography.
the only 30 to 1 ratio I see is the 30 to 1 ratio of your dead to living brain cells.
happy new year!

One could also say millions of people bought tickets to "Farenheit 9/11" while only about 400,000 watch "Hardball with Chris Matthews" each night for free.

17. Major Flaw in the math there also. |

If his #'s are correct. There are twelve books in the "Left (my head up my) Behind" series. So if people are buying the series, it's the same folks buying each book (not to mention the bulk buys by churches and pondscum like Regnery, etc), so it's really a 2:1 or so thing, and Clinton's book hasn't been out that long, so he'll probably catch up eventually.
And the truth is, if the "authors" of the Left Behind series had written Clinton's book, it would have taken twelve volumes to tell his story, too.
If you don't beleive, me, read a paragraph or two.. I was raised a fundie, and even I had trouble read it. It is some of the worst prose I have ever read. The democratic party should definitely hire the ghost writers as meme masters if this is the comprehension level of the masses.

18. Oh, Clinton sold 2 million? (just re-read the OP). THEN IT'S A TIE. |

Smackdown in ideology land.
This is the basic difference between the factions anyway. Truth vs. bad fiction.

that perhaps all/most of those books were sold, because it was the final book in the series? I'm sure if one had a series of books, getting a complete set would be a goal.

What a dolt!
If the MSM thinks this is "understanding statistics," no wonder they don't get the exit poll to "actual vote" coralation and why it matters.

he definitely used the 30 to 1 line to describe the 'cultural divide' in the country. there should be a transcript eventually.

8. One of the many ways that statement is idiotic is that Bill Clinton |
|
goes to church more often than W.
So if Chris Matthews is trying to make Bill Clinton into a symbol of non-religion, it doesn't make sense.

I enjoy biographies but not autobiographies. I hardly think you can equate the two books to being repub/dem supported. I know lots of religious people who never miss church - would never ever vote repub!

it's the revelations (bible) set in purple prose. I picked one of them up one day and was shocked at how bad it was. And I don't buy fiction, either, so maybe I'm unfairly comparing it to classics I read in school.

19. What I never understood about people who believe these books |
|
and the whole Armageddon theory is why they try to change the world into one in their own image....if God is just going to plague the world and "rapture" them any day now.
According to their own theories, if they are living as "good Christians," they shouldn't have to worry about if they will be "raptured." Perhaps reality will smack them in the face 80 years from now, when doomsday still hasn't come, and they're still not any better than the rest of us.

20. Saying "Idiocy" and "Tweety" Together Is Redundancy |
|
Once a flunky always a flunky. All he does is to "pander-bear" (his coinage, now discarded by him) to his imagined audience of wingnuts. He thinks wingnuts all across Redland are tuning in to him, or that he has to attract them for ratings. He won't face that what audience he has-------FIFTY--------are Lefties like us either who are just monitoring him or who haven't checked in on him in 5 or more years and still think he's a Dem. Also, he doesn't ken that wingnuts are only willing to USE him as a tool against us but they don't TRUST, LIKE, or WANNA have a beer with him. Witness Zell, who apparently considers him a raging Lib. It's the out-of-touch leading the out-of-touch.
