Ever since the Coup d'etat of 2000, I have come to think that Bush |
|
and the Republicans will not let any one gain power in the U.S. that does not obey their orders. That belief has been reinforced by their complicity in war crimes, tortures, financial shenaigans, electoral fraud, corrupting all our institutions and wilfully violating the Constitution they are sworn to uphold.
I am sorry to disappoint our fellow DUers but our confidence that even electing a Democrat will change things may be misplaced.A trojan horse like the DLC in our middle keeps us from even raising questions that need to be asked. We need a man of extraordinary strength and intelligence to lead us in these tough times. Arnold is waiting in the wings for a Constitutional Amendment. An American Fuehrer cannot be far off.

2. Well...that's why people compare him to Hitler, I guess. |
|
We are hardly alone in this fear/espectation.
Unlike some Pollyanna types, I don't see democratization as the inevitable consequence of an economic & political trainwreck here. That isn't the way it played out in Germany in the 30's--and the US is starting from a helluva lot stronger position than Germany was in in 1933.

4. Because Bush has already burned his bridges, his ticket to power |
|
would be to create more and more political and economic chaos at home and abroad so people can then ask him to be their savior. In this he may reverse the Nazis coming to power. There the wars and the economic chaos came first. Here our man starts them to ensure his ascension to permanent power.

9. Perhaps he's more like bismark |
|
Creating wars with france and austria to consolidate power, and then creating a series of with-us or against-us alliances that ultimately lead to world war 1, when one allie attacked unilaterally, serbia blaming it for harbouring terrorists of the black hand.
his methods and criminality are certainly like hitler, but i think he's a collage of several such despots. Certainly, he belongs in a cell or swinging on a noose, just like hitler belonged... and too bad instead, he's got a big bunker to hide in... and an army to stop him from being arrested for his murderous felonies.

3. You're not alone. We live in scary times. |

I voted Democratic in this last election to try and slow this down, but do not believe that Democrats are the solution. At this point, they were a possible stop-gap measure. Onward, not without hope but with the idea that we have to at least try.

8. The DLC is less like a Trojan Horse than |
|
like the empty Trojan Rabbit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They send the rabbit inside the castle to get kicked to the curb while remaining outside the Republican party, desperately wanting in. Worse, if they got in, they'd join the Republicans.
What we need is a real Trojan Horse. We need to start registering as Republicans and purge the party from within.

10. That may very well be but they have undermined our party so |
|
completely in the 2004 elections and now their attacks on Michael Moore that it is beginning to look like they want to be made men of the Bush family.

12. and you'll see alot of posts about "global warming" |
|
the idjits don't know how it pans out and why. Snow in New Orleans and Brownsville Texas are just a symptom of the climate change. The tidal waves and earthquakes are another. I fear it's a bit late to reverse course and stop the change, it took only 100 yrs to begin it, it'll take 300 to get back to any semblence of sanity in dealing with the earth. Sorry about the run on sentence.
