Leave it alone and don't try to export either our people or problems. Don't try to impinge on 200 years of friendship just because they have a government and society more representative of our professed ideals than we do. They are smart enough to take care of themselves and we should be also.

I read this book back in the 70's and have thought about it every once in awhile the last couple of years.

In the book America has an energy crisis, and looks to the north for a quick solution. Quite believable then, even more so now. A very good read, most would enjoy it.
