1. www.redcross.org for starters.... |

You can help those affected by this crisis and countless others around the world each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance, and other support to those in need. Call 1-800-HELP NOW or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish). Contributions to the International Response Fund may be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting www.redcross.org .

I need some help.
What do you say to people who say that they don't trust the Red Cross?
Is the Red Cross a good organization to contribute to? Are there others that are better or more trustworthy?

6. After what happened in San Diego, they cleaned up their act. |
|
They were not distributing funds to people affected by the Alpine fire that occurred about three years ago.
I'm sure the entire organization looked at that and decided to behave.
When a fire occurred after the Alpine fire, no one donated to the Red Cross to help those victims. That woke them up!

7. Actually... it was just American Red Cross that got tagged. |
|
The International Red Cross never really got implicated in any of the scandals back during the Alpine Fire. So... donate to the Intarnational Red Cross.

11. I don't trust the Red Cross after part of the 9-11 funds |
|
were directed to refurbishing their offices and stuff.
Is that reason enough never to trust that org EVER again?

I see that list includes the American Friends Service Committee. I was sure they'd be helping out.
