I take it personally when Republicans attack my Family
Republicans attack my family on a daily basis. When Republicans try to start fights over religion, they are trying to divide my family, since we have both religious and non-religious. When they try to start fights over abortion, and stick their nose in our business, that's an attack on my family. When the Republians attack gay and lesbian people, they are attacking us, because we have lesbian and gay family. They even tried to start a fight over CHRISTMAS!

When they try to privatize Social Security, that's a direct attack on my family. When they cuts taxes for millionaires and increase state and local taxes, cut services, and increase fees - that an economic attack on my family. When the CEOs skim from 401ks, another attack on us. When they illegally bust unions, and lie in the workplace, that's a direct attack on my family. When they ship jobs overseas - my family suffers.

Republicans start fights over things that should have nothing to do with the government anyway - all the while they help the rich and the wealthy and the powerful steal our money, steal our jobs, and ruin our standard of living.

How could you not take it personally? Is there a single family in the US that isn't being attacked by the GOP, even their own?

4. They don't value families.
They value power and nothing else matters. Wonderful post.

5. Spot on
and in a twisted way, I also have a need to blame the Democratic party for not coming to my defense with a loud cohesive message to counter all the republican attacks.

6. the Democratic leaders let us down
I understand exactly how you feel - it's not like we weren't behind them - we looked past everything they did, stood behind them, and they basically remained silent - four straight years now.

8. Well, I've got news for the Democratic leadership...
if they move any farther to the right - I'M GONE. Shit on a stick, Roemer? I suspect Dean will leave too, and I have no reason to doubt that he will take a large part of the Democratic base with him him. I visualized a third party that will be charged up and ready to fight, because this is a fight that needs to be fought. And I mean NOW!

I Want My Country Back!

7. DNC is not saying anything we are being hurt, again
I mentioned this on another forum. I have no clue why after everthing that was done to Kerry the DNC has learned nothing.

The GOP/RNC/hyer-conservatives are now defining the democratic party. They started with values and are slowly poisoning the minds of millions of people. Show of hands; all you folks who are angered by the words "Merry Christmas". Hum but all the networks were reporting that we are trying to take Merry Christmas out of the politically correct American vocabulary. Did you hear anyone but * talk happy holidays? People we are being smeared here and no one seems to notice or they just don't care.

10. I just could not understand this
the DNC should have just called Oreally "Scrooge" and made a joke about him. Did they say anything? They probably apologized for stealing Christmas and blamed it on "liberal activists" :eyes:

11. I have Republicans along with Democrats in my family
Should I take it just as personally when either of them are attacked by the "other" side?

13. Where are the attacks?
The insults? The perceived attacks on beliefs?

If this is wrong, then both sides are guilty is all I'm saying.
