What should I tell a Bushita after a post like this about the Tsunami?
From another forum....

"I have been thinking the last couple of days that any moment now Osama Bin Laden should announce a major contribution to the relief efforts for Indonesia. I say this because so many people in that country cheered on 9/11. Also, the most popular t-shirt in that country- especially for their youth- bears the image of Bin Laden. Perhaps Indonesians should not hold their breaths waiting for help from their fellow Muslims in the Middle East. So far I read that a lot of Asians, Europeans and Americans have offered money and other resources. I have not read that significant help is on the way from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestinians or any countries. I know some of you will think this is not the moment to bring us this topic. I, on the other hand, can't think of a better time to discuss it."

1. Palesteninians need help and can't give it. Stop reading the bullshit pres
s and you might read a thing or two about helping.

3. Exactly!
Many of the groups and countries he cites are not in any position at all to offer any help, they have zippo resources for themselves. They can't even feed their own families. I'm so tired of this kind of attitude when things like this happen, especially from those who claim to be Christians. It really does bring out the best and the worst in people.

2. Maybe the Muslims offer help quietly and don't believe in doing it in the
spotlight. There is no way to know for sure whether or not they are offering assistance.

4. Why Would OBL Do That?
He's evil, right?

But we are good and compassionate, even to our "enemies" so it is upon us to help these people in need.

7. Despite the other craziness
Kuwait has offered financial assistance, long before the US paid it lip service. And they have brown people there too.

8. How about these points...
First of all, there were MANY other people hurt that were NOT Muslim, so he is making a broad and ignorant statement. Tell him that the Middle East controls very little money compared to the US (or Europe, or Japan), and so it would be trying on their economy to send aid to Indonesia (I am sure that they are sending help, just not that much). Tell him Palestine is busy being oppressed by Israel, so it would be hard for them to send any help. Tell him Saudi Arabia is a regime which has a great deal invested in the American economy and is a great trading partner with Bush, and therefore much of the aid sent by the US is indirectly Saudi.
It is ludicrous to think that Osama Bin Laden could or would "announce" a major contribution to the devastated countries. He would be promptly arrested/executed. There is no way he could do this. His family, on the other hand, has been actively trading with America and Bush for a very long time. America has been receiving a form of Bin Laden "aid".
With this logic, Thailand should not give aid to the Aceh province, because some of them cheered when Aceh rebelled against the Thai government.

Such humanity. I thought the Freepers only prostituted 9/11 for political gain.

10. here is a thought to ponder:
The U.S. foreign-aid budget as a percentage of gross national product (GNP) ranks last among the world’s wealthiest countries (at about 0.1 percent). In raw dollars, however, the United States is now the world’s top donor of economic aid, although for more than a decade it was second to Japan, which is far smaller and has been beset by economic woes. In 2001, the United States gave $10.9 billion, Japan $9.7 billion, Germany $4.9 billion, the United Kingdom $4.7 billion, and France $4.3 billion. As a percentage of GNP, however, the top donors were Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Sweden. The tiny Netherlands (pop. 16.3 million) gave $3.2 billion in 2001—almost a third of what America contributed.
