Outsource CEO's, Not Workers

American companies are busily outsourcing workers when they should be insourcing CEOs from other countries. U.S. CEOs are way too expensive.

U.S. CEOs make 23 times as much as CEOs in mainland China, 10 times as much as CEOs in India and 9 times as much as CEOs in Taiwan, according to the latest Towers Perrin worldwide survey.

European and Japanese CEOs run many of the world's leading companies for a lot less pay than Americans. U.S. CEOs make five times as much as CEOs in Japan, four times as much as CEOs in Spain, three times as much as CEOs in the United Kingdom, France, Italy and the Netherlands, and twice as much as CEOs in Germany and Switzerland.

1. Prices of products would REALLY drop then.
and that's something bushco wants us all to believe; that lower prices by any means necessary is good.

Well, up the ante - ship the shit out of the USA.

2. it may be necessary to outsource directors as well
It's inevitable that over-paid CEOs - who spend more time on the golf course than in the office anyway - are going to have to be replaced with more efficient, harding working CEOs from Asia and India. But much inefficiency in the modern corporations comes from the director level as well. In the global marketplace, there simply is no room for college chums and cronies to be given fat salaries and padded expense accounts, so they can fly to "conferences" and have parties on the company dime.

An efficient company will get rid of the fatty layer of Vice Presidents, SVPs, Managing Directors, etc, or at least replace them with harder working, more efficient Asians and Indians. To ease the culture shock, perhaps the companies can outsource first to the EU - the costs of management is less expensive even there.

8. Not that my one proxy vote does any good, but...
...for the few stocks I hold (all in my IRA, btw) I routinely vote against any board members who hold interlocking board memberships. Too many board seats just means an entrenched "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" compensation network. I also vote against ridiculous elements of executive compensation.

We have an obscene disparity between executive compensation and the entry-level employees, and until something about that changes, employees will continue to just be "headcount" or "FTE" numbers on a spreadsheet.

5. Airline CEO Gets Big Pay Package
The directors of US Airways have awarded chief executive David Siegel a compensation package with a potential value of nearly $11 million, even as the airline tries to wring more pay concessions from its rank-and-file workers.

...more at:

My neighbor left USAir (a pilot) because he got tired of being laid off and pay cuts. I don't feel sorry for any of these "poor" airline stories anymore.

11. btw, Holly Sklar is amazing - please read "Trilateralism"
If you want to know where the DLC comes from, you must read Sklar's excellent compilation called The Trilateral Commission and Elite Planning for World Management.
