Is 'Patriot Day' the worst freudian slip ever made? Hell, yes:
9/11 named 'Patriot Day' by President *.

I looked up the definition of patriot, as any real patriot is wont to do:

http://www.britannica.com/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=patriot

Main Entry: pa·tri·ot
Pronunciation: 'pA-trE-&t, -"ät, chiefly British 'pa-trE-&t
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle French patriote compatriot, from Late Latin patriota, from Greek patriOtEs, from patria lineage, from patr-, patEr father
Date: 1605
: one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests

Now that's one constipated load of a freudian slip. x( x( x( Those who died on 9/11, as by BUSH'S OWN DEFINITION died to help his cause. While it's conjecture to tie that in with MIHOP, we all know that 9/11 itself was a LIHOP.

1. In New England (primarily Mass) "Patriot Day" is
celebrated on April 15. It is a state holiday in Massachusetts. It refers to the patriots of the Revolutionary War.

3. when did bush name 911 PATRIOT DAY? and yes, you got it ever so right!
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 09:10 AM by flordehinojos
On both counts you got it right. 1) That naming 911 PATRIOT DAY is "one constipated load of a freudian slip". and 2) "that by Bush's own definition, those who died on 911 died to help BUSH'S cause."

6. I don't know when, but I recall seeing a calendar for September...
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 09:47 AM by HypnoToad
The 11th apparently was made the official "Patriot Day".

Unless *'s stupidity made him misread the definition of "patriot"... OTOH, I'm wondering how much of that stupidity is just a show.

And I wish I was wrong, but the dots are so big that even a 1 year old could connect them all properly. :-(

11. I know that September 11, 2002 my kids got out of school at noon
They had to wear either red, white, or blue shirts to school that day (they already wear standardized dress aka uniforms to public school), depending on grade level, and they had the kids go outside and form an amurikin flag in a field. they stood in the flag formation singing patriotic songs, then got to go home.

12. Gee, and people wonder why kids can't count.
They're told to follow in line and act like a string of sausages or queue of lemmings. All the same. :puke: It's like individuality and freedom are evil.

13. Freedom and Individuality ARE evil...when you live in a red state
We're told that the standardized dress:

1. Prevents the wearing of gang colors

Is this really a problem in elementary school? maybe in some places, I guess, but not where we live.

2. Evens out the have/have not kids. Everybody wears the same clothes, so everybody is equal.

****************Bullshit!*****************

My son informed me (at the age of ten) that if he doesn't have hundred dollar tennis shoes, he will be made fun of. All of the other kids will have these shoes. Of course, I know that not ALL of the other kids are sporting expensive shoes, but I know how it is. I had to tell him that I'm sorry, but I just don't have the money for shoes like that, as we drove to Payless.

If it's not the shoes, it's the backpacks, or something else.
