Here we go again...

This was in todays Arizona Republic...

Patience, persistence will save Iraq

Dec. 28, 2004 12:00 AM

The cut-and-runners are now out of the closet, led by the Molly Ivins crowd.

This was predicted by numerous right-wing talk show hosts before the election. We all said that, if elected, John Kerry would cut and run from Iraq. Boy, I am sure glad that didn't happen.

This mentality of bailing out when the going gets tough is a time-tested response by the bleeding heart liberals, who threw rocks at returning Vietnam soldiers, called them baby killers and caused the war to be lost. It's amazing what a firestorm public opinion can create. advertisement

And now, in Iraq, more protests, name-calling and the same cut-and-run mentality exists among liberals.

Is it any wonder that the good we are doing in Iraq is being swept under the rug in favor of the blood-and-guts reporting by the liberal media? Is it any wonder that the morale of our soldiers there is low, in light of the negative reporting by the liberal media?

Whatever one feels about the war in Iraq, there is only one solution: Stay the course to victory. A victory there would have a widespread effect on other volatile situations in the Middle East and other places.

Will the victory come tomorrow? No. But patience and persistence will lead to the inevitable victory.
------------------------------

What is it with these people...they seem to want to blame everything but the real source of all the problems...

16. are u kidding. don't you know the hornest nest kerry stirred up
by killing that innocent vietnam kid. man there was a rally cry heard all across that country because of what kerry did. then you had that no good gore, over there sucking up all of the weapons and stuff because people had to bodyguard him. then of course that chicken bill clinton, draft dodger, hell that's all we needed was one more body, and we could have won that war.

they should have all taken the fine example set by gw bush, and servered their country by flying airplanes sometimes in georgia.

12. Oh, and don't forget the brassiere and draft card burning!!!
And LONG HAIR....long hair lost the Vietnam War!!!! And that ROCK music...and the pot, can't forget the pot!!! Body paint, Peter Max...headbands, peace signs--all those things lost the war! A failed political-military strategy had absolutely NOTHING to do with it!

The right are insane. They stole the election, they own the Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches, and STILL THEY WHINE (they really ought to adapt that as their mantra).

Wish they'd just jump that damn shark and be done with it. I've had enough of their whinging, whining complaints. They have not a clue as to how to be gracious or magnanimous.

It's as though they simply MUST COMPLAIN in order to survive, the petulant little twits!

No reason to think about any other solutions, and anybody who doesn't promote this one and only solution is a commie traitor.

5. So when did Kerry ever say that we should "cut and run"?
As I recall, he didn't. The very least this "reporter" could do is get his or her facts straight. And if there is any good being done over there, I am certain the "liberal" media would report it at once. Probably faster than all the bad things that are going on. When soldiers who are actually there complain, maybe, just maybe, there's some merit to some of the problems which are correctly being reported on.

I hope they print your response too. If they do, can we see it? Either way, the person should have done some research before spouting off. I suppose that may involve a little bit of effort though, and we can't have that now can we?

6. What's he doing posting this crap when he could be helping George
Bush directly, in the trenches, in Iraq? He's not another of those chickenhawks, is he? He sure seems to be very concerned that we win this war....that's quite impossible without his direct participation, I'm afraid. And, remember dude, they'll take anyone, of any age and in any health, to get boots on the ground.

14. Yeah, OK. Iraq is a clusterfuck because *I* don't support it
It's me. All me. I did it. All my fault. My lack of support has caused the death of thousands of people. My inability to wrap myself up in the flag caused the insurgency.

It's not that Iraq is a quagmire or that it began as an illegal invasion that has morphed into a hostile occupation...oh, no...it's because I lack patience and persistence.

Well, motherfuck, it's all clear to me now.

I said something similar to that in my response to the editor...

they always like to blame everything on something else...instead of looking at the big picture they point fingers...they try and divert attention away from how stupid and naive they are by blaming liberals for it...

stupid fuckers...

30. Did anybody tell the idiot writer that BushCo is backing away themselves?
Daily the news is showing Rumsfeld and the BushCo hacks talking about how Iraq has to fend for itself, how it's their country and how we are just supporting them. They are setting the stage to cut and run and this same idiot will applaud them when they back out. RWers are immune to truth and logic.
