Poll question: Who should pay for Inaugurations?
After hearing about this $40 million for this JOKE on Jan 20th I need to ask just who should be throwing this shin dig!?!?!

I can understand the country giving protection during the the swearing in and the parade...but where should it stop?

What is the history about all this?

2. I believe the president elect should pay for it...
...in order so he learns the value of the dollar, something Poppy didn't teach him when he was a little chimp

3. That price seems a bit high to me.
What did Clinton spend? I'll bet it wasn't half as much.

4. It was more than 1/2 as much...
According to this article, presidential innaugurations are usually paid for privately by donations and loans...
Clinton 1992 - $33 million
Clinton 1996 - $34 million

In addition, they have to reimburse the D.C. police department, the pentagon and the interior department.

5. Other..................
do away with the idiotic pomp and circumstance of the entire affair. The inagurals have become too big and expensive. It's nothing but a huge schmooze-fest of "special" interest groups and Olympic caliber ass kissers.
It's an unnecesary, wasteful event for a first term President. For a second term pResident like "*", there shouldn't be one at all.
