"Divers" is a synonym for "diverse". What a maroon, "diver's place's (sic)" bwahahahahaha.

Also would love to see the King Shrub Version of the bible where plurals = possessives. Maybe this is the version that newspaper bundled with the Sunday papers a few weeks ago?

16. Clarification
For your clarification, in this case, divers has nothing to do with underwater. If you look it up in the dictionary, divers means "various."

So the scripture can be interpreted as "divers (various) places."

20. Response
First, let me just say, respectfully, that I find your post to be somewhat irreverant.

Secondly, I believe that this is all a part of God's judgement upon this earth. These are events that have to be fulfilled because they have already been ordained.

And it's not up to us to question why this happened. Our Father allows certain events to happen, and He knows why. It's not always up to us to figure out the 'why.'

33. No
Not, I'm not joking. I'm very serious.

All I am trying to convey is that the Father ALLOWED this to happen. It's part of the events that must be fulfilled according to his Word.

And my heart goes out to every single person affected by this tragedy. My heart has been so heavy for them.

But even in the midst of this, God's goodness prevails. We are not in control of what happens here on Earth, but my comfort and joy comes from knowing who IS in control.

27. That's All Well And Good But,...
I think that the point of the inane quote posted above was that this was a specific message from Jesus. One last thing; if these events have been ordained by God, then what is the point of proselytizing? Even if everyone in that region claimed Jesus as his/her personal savior, they would be dead anyway. It was ordained.

37. Then you are not a Christian either
All of these crazy ideas about God punishing us are completely contrary to what Christ preached. He was very much against the doctrine of retribution espoused by many religions at that time, now painstakingly recreated for our modern times by a bunch of religious zealots.

God is not punishing us! The earth moves. It does not stay stagnant and unchanging for our benefit. Sometimes, we are in the way of natural events created to maintain the continuity of the rest of the world.

43. One Small Point, Mr. Journalist
It seems to me rather out of decent bounds to accuse a person who clearly does not share your beliefs to be "irreverant" in his expression. You may believe whatever you please, but no one else is under the slightest obligation to regard anything you believe with reverance, though they have some obligation to tolerate the diference between your views and their own.

45. "Christian shoppers demand to be greeted with Merry Christmas"
RALEIGH, N.C. — This year, as Christmas season swung into gear, Pastor Patrick Wooden's followers fanned out to shopping malls across Raleigh to deliver a muscular message of holiday cheer: As Christian shoppers, they would like to be greeted with the phrase "Merry Christmas" — not a bland "Happy Holidays" — and stores that failed to do so would risk losing their business.

Nearly six weeks later, some Raleigh residents are seething over what they see as an attempt to force religion into the public square. But others say "Merry Christmas" is rolling off their tongues more easily and more often than in previous years. Emboldened by their victories in November's elections, conservative Christians nationwide have converged around the topic of Christmas, contending that secularists and nonbelievers have tried to obliterate the holiday's religious meaning.

In Oklahoma and Florida, local skirmishes have erupted over the display of nativity scenes on government property; a California man has called for a boycott of Macy's and Bloomingdale's department stores, demanding the phrase "Merry Christmas" be used; in Denver, the mayor's attempt to remove "Merry Christmas" from a light display raised such a howl of protest that he reversed his decision.

In Raleigh, the grass-roots campaigning has focused on retailers. And it has been so invigorating that the church is making plans for

people they shouldn't fuck with Mother Nature. Yeah, I know that global warming most likely had nothing to do with this but still God might want people to see the awesome power of nature and think about that. God might want repugs to see that they should work with nature instead of against it because "Mother Nature bats last".
