The Globalization of Prejudice. |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 06:56 AM by KlatooBNikto
The events of the past few years show that what happened in our South during the 60's is now being reproduced on a global scale. The same fear, the same ignorance are now operating in the world arena. The language, us against them, is also the same. This time our targets are brown skinned people who profess their faith in a different religion.
May be it is time for a new Martin Luther King, Jr. to heal all of us.

while watching reruns of the Civil rights drama "I'll Fly Away". I think the only way to go about changing things is non violently, one heart at a time.

The new M.L.K. is about 10-14 years old now but he or she will be amazing. So much for the communication age people are still not getting to know each other and to make it worse the middle ground is vanishing with every breath of these neocon fascist greedy bastards.

not straight out racism - but some very us/them rhetoric... and a heck of a lot of mixing politics into the whole discussion.
Here is a tragedy which SHOULD pull the world together in addressing great human needs and tragedy... make us ALL part of US/WE... but that doesn't seem to be the case with some of the callers...

invented in the South. It is a universal human attribute. You think maybe there isn't a little prejudice and discrimination against whites in the 'brown-skinned' countries? What about the prejudice of one 'brown-skinned' people against another 'brown=skinned' people? Do you know about the vicious prejudice against native-born Koreans in Japan?? Koreans that may have lived in Japan for generations.
Not everything is America's fault.
