What's the DU Consensus on the Best Organization to Donate to?
Finally got my paycheck - I can donate now. I see the big list at the top of the board but I'd like some guidance as to which are the best orgs to donate $$ to, for me and for my email list. Thanks.

3. I don't know
I don't have any specific organizations in mind but i would suggest looking into donating to the tsunami victims.

6. well obviously it is for the tsunami victims
I'm just wondering which organization uses the $$ most effectively to help them. Some have high overhead or otherwise don't make the best use of funds. Remember the Red Cross scandal after 9/11?

8. That's ok
There's a pinned thread at the top with a long list of charities but I want some good advice before I send money.

9. Doctors Without Borders
got my food budget for this month, so I'll be living on very short rations for the next two months. They're a truly great organization, and will be sorely needed throughout the region as disease starts to spread.
