4. Cool. How much is Apple donating, while pressuring us to donate?
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 12:05 PM by HypnoToad
The guys at buyblue.org took down the database, but the last I recall, Apple donates 20% of their profit to the repukes. Makes them more of a purple, a heliotrope rather, than blue.

Hell, ever look at the prices of Macs - especially the higher end ones, and what sort of RAM, hard disk, and video power they don't have? Apple sure as hell can afford to donate too.

Prove me wrong here and I'll agree with the slobbering that Apple has a heart. Until then, it's a SHOWPIECE and nothing more.

7. Apple is the bluest computer company out there
http://www.choosetheblue.com/mainFrame.php?backlevel=002..001Choose%20The%20Blue.002Consumer%20Electronics&prodcat=Computer+Hardware

Their products are well worth the price, especially if you do a lot of video editing as I do.

5. Every corporation that has contributed megabucks
to the Bush inauguration should double that amount for tsunami relief.

8. Microslop???
You might want to check Microsoft's charitable giving and involvement in global health and education before being so insulting. I am so not in the mood to just take that crap today.

was to *. That one negates the rest.

IMO.

12. Gates gives to Repukes because Dems screwed him
... with the court cases. The Gates Foundation gives more to charity than any other company in the US, and at 1 billion a year, almost half of what the entire US govt provides.

17. No, this is freely done and quite genuine
Look, you've got your opinions, which are probably founded on things you have read. I have opinions founded on what I have seen and experienced. Those opinions are more than likely going to be quite different. I have been involved in positive acts by the company, and that has shaped my view. I am proud to express it, and yes, I will defend Microsoft as a company which gives generously and does good for people.

Here's one of the examples that makes me stand up for where I work:

http://www.cwheroes.org/his_4a_detail.asp?id=427

It was a while ago, but it's a decent example of what we "Borg" do, and is still at the top of my list for good experiences with any company.

13. Gosh, how right you are.

Gates makes a donation to Bush and that wipes out the good of supporting transition programs for homeless families, research into ways to eliminate malaria, research into an AIDS vaccine? So basically if someone doesn't agree with you on everything politically, they can do no good at all?

What do you know, a liberal fundamentalist. Charming.

11. Seems to me
that not long ago Microslop injected Apple with some much needed cash so they can enjoy their 4% market share. Apple, the Sony Betamax of computers.

15. You sound like my republican friends
Everybody is voting for Bush. Everybody uses Microsoft PCs. Follow the crowd.......right off the cliff.

Apple computers are reliable and user friendly. If you gave me a Windows PC, I would take it to the dumpster. Apple is doing just fine, thank you!

How quickly we forget Bill Gates little deals with Bush and the little back doors into each and everyone of our computers. An act as monstrous as the Patriot Act itself.

Thank you Steve Jobs.
