Reminder: 9/11 fund, $9 billion, 3000 victims. Tsunami fund, 35mil... |
|
you do the math.
9-11 3 mil per victim Tsunami $350 per victim
Even in DOG DOLLARS this is peanuts. I'm starting to get the idea that our President (my Commander in Chief, as it were) doesn't care about the victims of the tsunami.
How much are other countries kicking in?

2. Have the families of the 3,000 9/11 victims actually receive.... |
|
...any of the $3.0 million yet? As for the tsunami monies, how much of that will ever reach the victims families in the disaster countries? Most of the Christian relief organizations are requesting cash, not food, clothing or medical supplies. Cash is so much easier to hide and skim from and there is literally no accountability.

3. That's the wrong comparison to make - you should compare the aid to NYC |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 07:28 PM by Stephanie
The payments to the families were in lieu of lawsuits and insurance payments. It does not equate to the aid money being sent to Asia.
What does equate is the aid granted to NY. Congress approved $20 billion to disaster relief in NY. They awarded it that same week, IIRC.
