for the info! With all the wonderful relief groups to choose from, I'm leaning towards medical assistance right now, which will be the most urgent need in the weeks to come

5. I donated to Doctors Without Borders |
|
because I too believe the most pressing need is medical, food and water. The prevention of outbreaks of disease is top priority. I will be donating again soon. :D

7. They got this month's food budget |
|
so I'll be living on what I can scrounge out of the back of the cabinet.
I've been out of work for over a year, with no hope in sight.
People in the flood areas are worse off, though.

Just donated some. They can do direct bank withdrawals so no need for a credit card.
Will be donating more, lots more I hope, in 2 weeks after the fundraiser some friends and myself are organizing.

19. Didn't really know who to donate to |
|
Was sort of overwhelmed with choices - Oxfam, Red Cross
But Doctors Without Borders sounds like the right choice, and I'd have no problem if the money went somewhere else (Darfur, etc.) if it turns out physicians were not what was needed in the earthquake/flood zone.
