what is the story with Lynn Samuels?
I just got Sirius and I'm listening to her for the first time. Does she think she is Randi or did she have her show first? I am tired of repeats on AA. I can't wait for Randi to come back next week.

1. she's been on in the NYC area market for at least 15 years
used to love her show and even met her a couple of times.

I knew of Lynn long before I first heard Randi (over the internet) but I'm not sure who had a show on 'first'...

12. I used to listen to her all the time
She was the only liberal talk show host on the wingnut stations here, until they fired her. She was on WABC.

2. Lynn's been on (and off) air in NYC for a long time...

...as the above said, at least 15 years, maybe longer.
Sometimes as "the liberal" on WABC (the Rush/Hannity home), sometimes on WBAI (the Amy Goodman/Democracy NOW! home). I've met her too, volunteering for a couple of BAI's funrdraising drives.

That said, Randi's much better. Lynn can be something of a scatterbrain (which is why some of us think she was on ABC, to play the "irrational liberal").

Your milage may vary.

4. But Kuby's on WABC
and he always did a great job whenever I heard him.

I agree about Lynn, though.

5. But Kuby's always chained to a Neaderthal, isn't he?
I've stopped paying attention to ABC. Has Kuby ever gotten his own show? Last I knew he was paired with Sliwa, preventing anything much useful from getting done.

6. I don't think so
I stopped listening when they switched to mornings -- too many commercial/traffic breaks to get a good discussion going.

I didn't mind Sliwa -- he and Kuby had good chemistry on the show and he's not a creepy psychopath like Hannity.

Kuby would be great on AAR.

3. Randi has often called Lynn...
...something like the reason why she went for doing liberal talk over being a DJ.

Yeah, Thom Hartmann rocks and all, but the Randi withdrawl is a beeyotch!!!

7. Yeah, I like Tom too.
But Randi is the best. Except for Mike Malloy who is my first radio love.

8. She's Randi lite
and about half as intelligent. Is it shallow to say that her voice is almost the most annoying thing I've ever heard?

13. Lynn Samuels sounds like Sylvester the Cat to me
and no where near as intellegent as Randi.
I have Sirius and I hate that they cut off the last hour of Hartman to go to Lynn.

11. Okay...Thanks
I just realized that I never listen to women broadcasters (aside from Robin Quivers who is my least favorite part of the Stern show).

There's another month of therapy sessions.

14. Any liberal on radio is fine with me!!!

Lynn is alright, I've been listening to her on the "Sirius Left" channel for a couple of weeks now...she's sincere and grows on you...give her a chance.

And if Lynn wants to say "the republicans are bullshit" she can say it, (and does) because there's no censorship on Sirius!!
