Military Lab Proposed Gay-Aphrodisiac Chemical Weapon
DUer's this is too too too funny - even moreso because it is true! (I think)

Here is the link -
http://www.thememoryblog.org/archives/000382.html

snip - Thanks to a FOIA request from the Sunshine Project, a fascinating document has now come to light. In June 1994, the US Air Force Wright Laboratory wrote a proposal titled "Harassing, Annoying, and 'Bad Guy' Identifying Chemicals." While listing the categories of chemical weapons they planned to develop, the military scientists wrote:

Chemicals that effect human behavior so that discipline and morale in enemy units is adversely effected . One distasteful but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior.

The Air Force Lab was quite serious about the proposal, listing a timetable and estimate of expenses for the overall project.

Total cost through fiscal year 2000: $7.5 million

Having enemy soldiers throw down their guns and start humping each other: Priceless

2. A chemical that causes homosexual behavior...
...does it also cause a lack of precaution? So the Air Force wants a weapon to force people to have non-consensual, unsafe sex? So it isn't the schools that want to turn kids gay. It's the Air Force.

5. I hear recruitment numbers are way down. Maybe they will crank this up
again sometime soon?

What happens to the sniffer dogs the MPs use if they start applying sex inducing pheromones to military operations? Gads, it could be worse than my brother's horn-dog Pomeranian who sometimes gets stuck in 'hyper-hump gear'.

6. But, wait a minute! I thought being gay was a choice!
Gee, if sexual attraction can be chemically manipulated, doesn't that pretty well disprove the fundie theory that gays and lesbians can be straight, if they so choose?

9. Actually, it was accidentally discovered by Albert Hoffman
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 03:47 PM by ET Awful
a Swiss chemist, while researching ergot fungus (and it's historic link to psychosis).

Government research came much later. Hell, it was being manufactured and sold by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals well before any government expirementation took place.

LSD is a synthesized version of a component of ergot, a fungust that grows on rye.
