9. Many reasons
1- they think these countries did nothing to aid the US after 9-11

2- they think these people, especially Malaysians, are the ones who cheered the deaths of Americans on 9-11

3- they think these countries take jobs from the US

4- they think many of the aid groups are Liberal. Especially the Red Cross, which they don't like because of its stand agains prisoner abuse in Iraq and Guantanamo

65. Kerry wasn't going to do anything, don't kid y/self
He said he wasn't. I think there was some kind of tax credit thing he was going to work on, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to dropping a salary from 90K to 12K.

Get real. He wasn't going to do anything meaningful.

for companies that practiced outsourcing. Not quite as aggressive on the issue as I would have liked, but nonetheless he was the anti-outsourcing candidate.

He was the slightly-less-rabid-outsourcing candidate.

They were both outsourcing candidates. They belonged to the same fraternity at the same college. Jesus.

79. My point was
that it was silly for hardcore conservatives to complain about other countries "taking their jobs" when most of them probably support outsourcing as part of the "free market". Why are we still arguing over who should be the Democratic candidate? The 2004 primaries ended a long time ago.

Catholic Relief. There's a big difference between the International Red Cross, and the American Red Cross. American Red Cross, as of today, only had a total of 5 people in the Tsunami country's. While there are about 500 western journalists who have been there for 3 days.

23. I keep overestimating the freeper's mind, and keep forgetting it is not
bigger than a cockroach's.

1-They expected aid from these countries during 9-11? Have they been watching the news coverage of the disaster? Do these people look like they belong to a high income bracket? Did they not see news during 9-11 of how many countries offered flowers at US embassies around the world?

2-Would these people be cheering America now with this kind of thinking and it's government's foreign policies?

3-Look at the news again. Do these victims look like the people who have your jobs, freepers?

4-People are dying by the tens of thousands and they talk about liberal aid groups?

Freepers, you disgust me! Get off the planet! :grr:

Aside from the fact that in all likelihood most "prisoners" being detained at Gitmo and those tortured at Abu Grab-ass were innocent, prisoner abuse should never be condoned or tolerated and part of the Red Cross' function is too call attention to abuse and torture of POWs , right?

The poster was telling everyone to donate to christian charities only, because 'the Red Cross doesnt deserve our money' after their 'unamerican' actions trying to stop torture.

and of course, UNICEF is right out, because they are corrupt...

these people sure don't let facts get in the way of their fantasy.

42. Here's that guy you're referring to:
Post No. 20
First, let me just say, respectfully, that I find your post to be somewhat irreverant.

Secondly, I believe that this is all a part of God's judgement upon this earth. These are events that have to be fulfilled because they have already been ordained.

And it's not up to us to question why this happened. Our Father allows certain events to happen, and He knows why. It's not always up to us to figure out the 'why.'

Post No. 33
Not, I'm not joking. I'm very serious.

All I am trying to convey is that the Father ALLOWED this to happen. It's part of the events that must be fulfilled according to his Word.

And my heart goes out to every single person affected by this tragedy. My heart has been so heavy for them.

But even in the midst of this, God's goodness prevails. We are not in control of what happens here on Earth, but my comfort and joy comes from knowing who IS in control.

73. Spoken like a true believer!
I should know, because I grew up in that environment. Many years ago (in my early teens, anyway), I might have said the same things, parroting the kinds of things I heard all the time. Fortunately, I've grown since then, and see such theological dribble as, at best, childish, at worst, bullshit.

I hope that I am least somewhat more enlightened now to believe that:

God desires to redeem the world, not judge it. God has not preordained catastrophes and tragedies to administer punishment and judgment, and does not need any followers going around trying to point all of this out. Instead God would use believers as instruments of good, to bring peace and love and justice to the world in order to redeem it.

I don't believe there is anything wrong with asking "Why?" Who better to ask than an all-knowing, all-loving God? Asking why is not evidence that we doubt God, but rather proof of our faith in a God that wants us to know and understand.

God only allows things to happen to keep from meddling in the affairs of humanity. God deeply cares for us and grieves with us when we suffer, but if God were to prevent this or that tragedy, where should God draw the line--prevent accidents? prevent sickness? prevent me from catching a cold or stumping my toe?

And while good can come from even the most terrible of circumstances, God certainly does not allow bad things to happen just so that some good can come of it. Good things can indeed come out of this tragedy, but it is up to us and how we react and respond.

We are not in control, but I do not worship a God that holds the people of the world like so many puppets. God loves the world, and has cut the strings that would control us. We have been given freedom by our Creator to choose how we live, whether to live for good or for evil.

My theology and my faith pilgrimage are still a work in progress, and I hope to look back in ten or twenty years and find myself to be an even more enlightened believer. But for now, I do take some pride in the fact that those I left behind (family included) consider me a heretic for all my radical beliefs!

There were a couple of offensive things about God and Iraq-something-or-other, but there were also some people who shot them down.

All in all, I'm just surprised those dipshits can type, but it's nice to see at least a couple of them are in tune with reality.

40. Its that they are brainwashed.
by Right wing faux news. everything they say is a sound bite from fox or rush. its sad. they seldom think for themselves.

they collectively hate the UN. why because they are told to hate the UN. they think Indonesia takes their jobs! why because they are not very smart. they didn't listen to john Kerry talk about outsourcing. that its not their fault but our fault.

they are so misinformed its criminal. and it will only get worse unless the media it broken up.

62. There were a few truly ignorant posts
Such as the comment about now there would be fewer people consuming resources and the "God has trumped the terrorists in Iraq" remark. And one poster even chastised the "trumped" remark: "I am gobsmacked by your naivety."

But I agree that most of it was arguing over the number.

52. Here are a couple discussing WJWD
"To: Windsong

"When you failed to do it for the least of these here brethren of mine..you failed to do it for me" --J.C.

You can't give everything to everybody.

Jesus Christ would not aprove of giving money to people to build houses again in an area that is.... lets face it...prone to this activity.

Nothing in the Bible does it say "Blessed are the Stupid.

The government taking money from you and I and giving it away is not charity.

It is forced slavery of You and I.

If I want to give money to help these people...and I will......I want to do it...not have the government tell me that I must do it.

JC hated publicans...tax collectors. And the tax collectors are running this country into the ground with this supposed idea of charity...which has stolen trillions from hard working Americans in the name of.....WE MUST DO IT.....IT IS ONLY RIGHT.

See the great society.....and welfare.....and Social security...and so on and so forth.

Great. Another ignorant newbie chimes in.

So, according to you the Government can take as much money as it wants at the point of a gun, then give it away, and that's somehow 'Christian'?

And if I object to this obscene practice, I'm not a 'good Christian'?

You might want to go back and reread your Bible there, Sparky.

I believe there's a pretty big proscription against stealing.

53. Will MSM pick it up?
Nope. They'll show the Palestinians cheering 9/11 but not good Bush-loving American RW wackos cheering massive loss of life.

54. Freepers (and those on Yahoo) are members of the Death Cult
George Bush is now the undisputed King of the Death Cult. They bow down before Him.

Death, destruction, guts being blown out of children, US soldiers having their bodies and minds destroyed are all the fabulous rewards of electing the Deathly Correct politicians. They wallow together in the Dark Side. They giggle with glee about putting prisoners to death, wars, ecological destruction and the deaths of children by bombs, hunger or disease.

Where were those WMDs? (looks under furniture in Oval Office) Not here! Isn't that funny?

This truly is a dark, dark time.

69. It's easy...first you figure out a way to see them as less than human.
and if you have no compassion, no empathy whatsoever...and have an ax to grind...the prescription is complete.

It's so very disheartening to see that some people cannot feel at all, and we have so many of them in this country.

77. We are all children of God.
Black, brown, yellow, and white, Muslim, Buddist, and
Christian. If these people at FR bothered to read their Bible they would note that Christ (who they profess to follow) preached that you had to love your fellow man. Moreover, he professed that you had to love your enemy. If you take hate away from the Freepers, they'd have nothing left because that's all that fills their black souls. I refuse to go read their ramblings because I know that they are truly the agents of satan on this earth.
