OTTAWA -- Canada has announced a moratorium on debt payments from countries affected by this week's south Asia tsunami. Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew says the moratorium will be in effect for the forseeable future. Indonesia owes the most, at 588 (m) million dollars. Other affected debtor nations include Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldeves and Myanmar.
AS well the feds are gonna match Canadian donations dollar for dollar..on top of the 40 million already promised. At last count the Donations from citizens was at 8.5 million.
