This fraud has been disasterous for dems. Do we honestly think all the people who were disenfranchised last time will be willing to go again?

4. You're saying to vote no? |
|
(flame suit on!)
Here goes:
If we want a re-vote for President in Ohio, I assert that we have to be willing to risk a re-vote for Governor in Washington. The margin of votes for the winner is just so small. I am confident that Gregoire will have an even better showing in a re-vote.
Regardless of the validity of allowing some votes and disallowing some other votes into the re-count on a case by case basis -- our message has been to count every vote and to let every vote count. That message needs to stay consistent across all states. We have to take the high road at all times, even when it's risky.
We can't have it both ways and they can't either!
That's just one Dem's humble opinion, though.

5. I hear the Pukes are furious up there! |
|
They are so used to winning everything and getting their way - this "stealing" of the governorship by Gregoire has unleashed a vicious spitting hissy-fit. Attention Walmart shoppers: Calling James Baker! Calling James Baker! And if he cant steal it back there's always Clarence and Antonin. The Pukes will stop at nothing! (I love it).

7. Oh, they are livid over in freeperland. Lots of macho posturing, |
|
gnashing of teeth, and claiming they will get their lumberjack axes and chop some "demorat" wood to take back "their" state. They see this loss as the first step toward anarchy and Armageddon. They are just as convinced the election was rigged as we are about the national presidential election. It's really some pretty funny reading. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1311395/posts

8. Trouble is, they haven't had their way in Wa. for a very long time. |
|
The last repuke gov in Wa. was John Spellman (1980-1984). And presently, there is a Dem majority in the legislature. They are SO horny for some kind of win - that is why they're desperate. The conservatives in this state are mad as hell because the urban areas are Democratic and outnumber the rest of the state. Kind of a microcosm of the red state-blue state situation. THANKFULLY we do outnumber them here. They may hate us 'godless liberals' but they need us. We write their meal ticket!

6. It's apples and oranges. |

In Ohio, there are many accounts of suppression and irregularities. In Washington, it was a DAMNED close election. The only problems that arose were in King County, a Democratic stronghold. If anything, the problems favored Rossi. Basically, the repukes in my state rushed things and did not challenge rural pro-Rossi counties. Those counties certified, and that was that. They miscalculated that the hand recount in King County would turn in Gregoire's favor. Secretary of State Sam Reed - a republican himself has stated the process was fair and with extremely minimal margin of error. The Rossi people got a woody over the fact they were THIS CLOSE to winning. Now, they don't have a leg to stand on and are desperate. One more thing - a re-vote would cost the taxpayer in Wa. MILLIONS of $$$. The Dems had put up the money for the hand recount as well. Once again, republican hypocrisy about so-called fiscal responsibility!

9. Well, I bow to your more indepth knowledge about the issue. |
|
I just urge caution about the issue.
Regardless of cost, in my perfect imagination, the ENTIRE country would get a re-vote for President. We would settle that alleged "mandate" issue once and for all -- and Bush-wipe would have to get-the-hell out of Kerry's house!

10. Oh, I totally hear you. The repukes here in Wa. are using words |
|
like 'disenfranchisement' and are spewing rhetoric that echoes 2000 Florida. They have no shame! Indeed, our country is in need of a serious overhaul of our election process - from the campaigns to the ballots. Otherwise, our credibility as a democracy is lost.
