PARIS HILTON MISSES HER OWN CLUB OPENING! (CNN front page)
Right below the Tsunami story, I kid you not. Why is this even news?

Oh, here is the link anyway.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/31/people.hilton.club.ap/index.html

PS The reason I did not post this in the lounge is because I thought it was so ridiculous and ironic it should be in GD.

But, really, who shows up at clubs before 1 a.m. anyway?

<snoot tone off>

2. OMG! Nooooooooooooooo!
This is simply tragic.

Can we mount relief efforts?

Failing that, can we mount Paris?

3. For 2 bits and a cameraman...
...I'm sure you could, everyone else has...

It'll become canonical. "Hey there Joe, seems you have a bit of Paris on your pants."

4. This part should be news

""The Simple Life" star was obligated to make four appearances a year at the Orlando location, ....

Khalilian put almost $3 million into upgrading the space. Hilton didn't put up any money and was made a partner. She also received a substantial up-front payment and a Ferrari, which Hilton described as "hot" after jumping into it to pose for photos."

She's a star for doing nothing on a fluff show.
She's made a partner in a club for doing nothing but showing up.
Meanwhile, the real wages of working americans continue to plummet.

Ahh, but Paris has a *name* -- "rich skank"

If we all chip in, could we get our own publicist?

And why am I not laughing?

5. No different than the way GWBush made his way through. By Bush standards
Paris Hilton is now qualified to be the Governor of Texas. Just wait till she pretends to be a bornagain Christian, and then she can run for President, too.
