This LTTE is from this week's REMINDER (East Hartford, CT):
The citizens of America make me sick. All of you that still cannot accept the fact that George W. Bush is the President of the United Stated need a reality check. The man won because he was a better candidate. End of story. Everywhere I go, I hear someone bashing the President. Grow up and move on with your life, please.
The only thing we can do now to make our country a better place is to come together and stop rebelling against every single one of the President's actions. If you think that Mr. Bush is leading out country into the gutter, then try doing something that might help our country, rather than sitting around whining. Use your anger as motivation in community service or volunteer work.
Needless to say, I plan to respond!

why are people bashing him everywhere this guy goes?

6. This is ironic, in light of the fact that Conservatives are now banding |
|
together to take him on for not being conservative enough. I heard this on NPR today from repuke congressional unit #72...apparently Rove has some plan to get these guys re-elected by letting them accuse Bush of being too moderate. They are appealing to Nazis across the land by opposing Bush's guest worker visas. Congratulations migrant workers, YOU are the NEW QUEERS! COME ON DOWN! You are the NEXT CONTESTANT on "Manipulating the public with useless rhetoric while the issues of real importance to Americans never see the light of day!"

7. Bush is not only an asshole |
|
He is also a MORAN. I like that name for him. Everytime I think of his name "MORAN" pops in my head. The ship is sinking.

10. Bush won't take responsibility for his considerable mistakes. |
|
That's one, though not the only, reason why he's being knocked around.
I will feel that he is victimized as soon as Hadrian rises from the dead and replaces Tucker Carlson on Crossfire.

11. Here's a quote to include in your response |
|
In case you don't already have it:
To quote Teddy Roosevelt (one of the good Republicans like me):
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public".

13. lots of touchy "buyers remorse" |
|
in repugs these days. A couple have gone off on me lately for even little things. I think they are waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat screaming "my gawd, what have we done"! Edgy, testy, nasty. A lack of REM sleep will do that..

16. try doing something that might help our country |
|
Now that the election is over, it is hard to know what that would be. It will be easier when we get to 2006. As far as volunteer work goes, I certainly did not want to do that after the election. If people will not goto the voting booth and help themselves, then I do not want to help them. It is going to take me a few more months to get over this.

...when I found out he voted for * because, he said, "as I get older, I get more conservative, and besides, it's OK to vote for * because there's checks and balances in the government"
WHERE ARE THE CHECKS AND BALANCES, YOU NINCOMPOOP??? THEY CONTROL ALL THREE BRANCHES OF GOVT NOW. DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT'S A GOOD IDEA???
by the way, I canned the trainer shortly thereafter (too stupid for my taste).
