America does this over & over & over again;

...we supported Osama bin Laden to fight our enemies, then declared OBL the enemy...we supported Saddam Hussein to fight our enemies, then declared Hussein the enemy...we supported the Taleban to fight our enemies, then declared the Taleban the enemy...

America DOES NEGOTIATE with terrorists; we use them and support them and finance them for our own ends. Then when we've no more use for them, we declare them the enemy and attack them.

And that is why "they" hate us.

...these "tools" will cause innocent peoples' deaths...

...the world will, as always, know these groups are US "tools" and blame the US for the deaths of innocents caused by US "tools"...

My first reaction to your subject line was why the republicans hate the democrats, and I thought the post would be about human rights, social issues, etc.

Your points are well taken, of course, and the real shame (and fear) is that while things are appalling now, we are now laying the groundwork for some nasty anti-Americanism in 20 or 30 years (you have only to look at Iran and al-Qaeda to see that).
