(SLAP SLAP) Snap OUT of it... Democracy LIVES!
Democracy didn't die. It CAN NOT die.

People die, animals die, trees die, but ideas and concepts don't die, unless they are forgotten, and no one can force you to forget, short of surgery. Surgery works, on individuals, but how cn you make an entire society forget?

As long as one person, just ONE PERSON remembers, an idea will live on, and can be taught to another person. That is how ideas spread, and by spreading they grow stronger.

America is not dead. Democracy is not dead. The very fact that we're talking about Democracy proves that. Keep talking about Democarcy. Keep practicing Democracy. Keep fighting for Democracy. Don't quit.

The only person who benefits if you quit is the fascist, those who don't care for Democracy, or those who want to have all the control for themselves.

They want you to feel despair. They want you to move slong, cause there ain't nothing to see here.

Don't do it. Don't forget

3. Pollyanna time --
One party rule.

A coronation for a Moron.

A Moron who did not win.

Our votes don't count.

Democracy is dead -- It died four years ago.

Will you still be shouting that democracy lives when liberals and progressives are haul away?

One party rules -- and these MFSOB march in lock step.

YES! Damn straight I will. What will YOU be yelling? (HELP! ARGH! ??)

And when they carry ME away, I'll yell it ALL THE LOUDER!

I've always envied the way William Wallace died. I should be so lucky.

5. I hear this, but we need a serious change.
Despite being totally butt-fucked in 2000, we said, "they surely won't butt-fuck us again".

Well, they did, only this time they did it harder and better.

?????

So what next...head back in sand, rear in air, vaseline on hand for next time?

10. oh yes, we need change.
Democracy is not dead, but it's damn sick.

Good thing there are people like you who know that change is needed.

You are keeping the flame alive. The can fuck us again and again, but they can't take our Democracy. If we have to make the name of this message board a reality, and go underground, we will.

We'll vote on anything we can. If we have to, we'll vote on lunch! HA! We'll build support slowly. We'll grow. Why? Because Democracy is more than just a mere idea, its a great fucking idea!

People LOVE Democracy because it allows them to control their destiny. Democracy is freedom! Give people a taste of freedom, and they want more. Democracy is like political crack. It is all addicting.

No, Democracy is not dead, but if you really think its dead, I guess we could all vote on it... :)

12. Yeah, I feel the same way
I snorted in my java when I read that post.

Trust me, you don't want to do that. Snorting in your java makes your java explode. if your java is hot, you get burned. Then, on top of all else, you have to decide whether its really worth it to dring java snort.

6. Today was the finest example of the Democratic process
we've seen in a very long time. The voice of the people was heard by a lot of people who don't usually listen. How many people were snowed in today and watched the hearings, just to see if anything would happen? They heard us. They might try to blow it off, and some will. Others will start to think again. Our numbers will grow, and next time, we will be louder.

7. The US was never a democracy, only a republic
Having said that, even a representative form of democracy is just as dangerous as a fascist dictatorship or a communist dictatorship when it is thrown into an atmosphere of fear, ignorance, hate, and apathy. It would be little more than a totalitarian state with the trappings of a democracy, an illusion.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials
