1. I think our leaders need to start getting arrested and thrown out of |
|
chambers for opposing what's happening to America. Start showing that we care about this country more then being in power. Put something on the line instead of being part of the line.

6. Let me clarify something. This has to be an effort that is real. |
|
Sit-ins and walk outs and heckling have all got to be apart of it. Win bad bills come up for a vote they no they can't stop they need to walk out in unison instead of working out a compromise on something bad. When they change the rules or do things in secret behind closed doors they need to form human chains and refuse to let them out. They need to fight every battle as if it were the last one.

7. Unless we find completely new people... |
|
it'll never happen. Too much money, power, and status to lose on account of us "regular folk"

8. There are a few people already there. |
|
Like my senator, Barbara Boxer.
And the man who got my vote in the Democratic Primary: Dennis Kucinich.

9. I agree with you there... |

I love Boxer an dI too voted for Kucinich. Two people who certainly have the capabilities of being president.

10. Because of the "elected elite" phenomenon, I am not... |
|
...sure even getting new people would do it.
The elected elite phenomenon happens as soon as we send off new folks to DC. Suddenly, they don't even have to open doors for themselves! Someone rushes and opens it for them. They no longer have to drive themselves, they have fantastic lifetime health coverage, they have a staff at ther back and call, they have all these perks and trappings of office.
In other words, they have instantly become part of the elected elite, and have become disconnected therefore from the lives of ordinary people.
For some time now, I have felt than the "liberal elite" or the "conservative elite" are not the problem. It is this elected elite phemonenon that is the real issue, as it cleaves the leadership away from its constituents.
