NO VOTES in 2006! BOYCOTT 2006 - Send a MESSAGE!
The Democrats in Congress only care about ONE thing - their jobs and political capital. They give plenty of lip service but don't REALLY act in our interests. Sen. Boxer stood up and i applaud her for her efforts.

BUT WE NEED TO TAKE OUR PARTY BACK. IF NOT, why EVER vote again?

Therefore, I propose that we SKIP the 2006 midterm elections and do not cast a SINGLE vote for the democrats up for re-election.

I, for one, am tired of being suckered in by their words only to be left abandoned by their deeds. The ONLY way they'll REALLY act in OUR interests is if THEIR JOBS ARE AT STAKE!

NO VOTES in 2006!

NO VOTES in 2006!

NO VOTES in 2006!

NO VOTES in 2006!

20. Roll your eyes all you want....
Gee, it's only gotten BETTER with the strategy at play now...

The DEMS have NO power except to protect their own jobs.

NEWSFLASH to you:

The GOP controls the HOUSE, SENATE, EXECUTIVE BRANCH & JUDICIAL BRANCH.

IF there was EVER a time for an ELECTION PROTEST, 2006 is it.

Democrats have NOTHING TO LOSE!

5. hehehe um no
Working towards runoff voting is a better alternative. In the meantime, disenfranchising all the democrats may not be the best thing for the country.

I'm not so interested in letting the republicans have an even larger majority. Not even if it gives me a nice "told you so" moment.

6. er, not to be overly critical
but I can think of two times in history this has been tried. Both were miserable failures. Any students of Russian history remember when the Whites stood up and walked out, en masse from the Duma? Made this chap Lenin, from a minority party, the boss. that was fucking brilliant no?

you cannot boycott democracy. You know what boycotting elections gets you? totalitarianism. If you wnat to protest, vote only for candidates that represent you, write in your brother-in-law, but if you can't be bothered to show up, why do you think they'll listen to you all of a sudden?

Without even waiting for 2006. Let's all get firearms, and aim them at our foots. At Noon on inaguration day, we will all fire.

Think about the havok that would wreck as thousands, maybe tens of thousands of Democrats shot themselves in the foot.

We could clog the hospitals! And it would really illustrate how angry and how determined we are!

Please, nobody assume that this is a serious response.

23. That would also reveal the failures of our healthcare system
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 05:45 PM by theboss
Since self-inflicted injuries are typically not covered by major health plans, we would all go bankrupt and reveal the need for a single-payer health system.

And then we can ask the 90 Republicans in the Senate to give it to us.

12. dumb dumb dumb dumb idea

so no one shows up to vote because we're unhappy with 2004's results and what happens - all the current democratic members are voted out of office and who replaces them, more republicans, thereby further solidifying their hold on both houses......now how exactly does that help press foward the issue of electoral reform? or do anything whatsoever to prevent the further expansion of the conservative agenda?

if you don't vote next time, or any time for that matter, don't go bitching about the results.....

13. I got your back
Its not votes that matter (because they clearly don't) its money. So I suggest that no one donate to democrats unless they can be shown beyond a shadow of doubt that everyones vote will be counted. Vote for whomever you want, it won't make a damn bit of difference.

19. Exactly.
Hit 'em where it hurts -- the pocketbook. And since our votes don't count anyway it really doesn't matter one bit who we vote for. Personally I'm lookig at voting straight Commie ticket next time around, just to make a statement.

17. I already told my
Senator and Rep I wouldn't be voting for them in the future - but I'm in MASSACHUSETTS! Because they didn't stand up for "me" I can't stand up for them on the most basic of all American rights - the right to have your vote counted. In good conscience, I just cannot do it - BUT..................

Those in states that could go red need to think about this long and hard - and determine what you believe is best for you.

there's a revolution afoot here

33. ditto. I'll vote third party if the Dems saddle us with DLC scum

My state is "safe" Dem anyway so I cast a write-in vote for Nader in 2004 instead of Kerry. I see no reason to reward the Dems for caving to the GOP. If they want to roll over and be the minority party, why I should help prop them up? It's too damn bad.

Repug enablers like Cantwell, Dayton, Bayd, Nelson, LIEberman, etc. have done nothing to EARN our votes. If they want to wear the Dem label then they need to do SOMETHING for Democrats.

Right now, Illinois elected a whole slate of Chicago "progressives" including Blagojevich, Madigan, and Obama, and we have NOTHING to show for it. Gov. Blagojevich is getting so bad I'm starting to be EMBARRASSED he's the best we could do after 25 years of Repug rule in the Governor's mansion.

*I* have had it up to here with the Dems. *I* will vote third party in 2006. Anyone who wants to vote for Repug-lite, be my guest. We've tried it your way since 2000. Where has it gotten us? Someday the apologists on this site will wake up.

It is hard to vote for Dems if there are none on the ballot. Kerry was the only one in the last election.

39. Mike Malloy quit the party

and Randi Rhodes advised her listeners to become Independents.

Take back the Democtratic Party by quitting it.

Persuade those 32 Democrats who stood up for the electorate on January 6th come out and form your own party away from the whores who co-opearated to install the most disliked and hated individual on this planet as your President.
